Proverbs 16:4
“The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.”
Today as I was meditating on the Lord, and enjoying His awesome company, he gave me a profound revelation. It is - that our enemies are on assignments from God. They are appointed, and allowed to persecute, and mistreat God’s people in order for the purposes of God to be accomplished. Remember what the Lord told Pharaoh in Exodus 9:16, “And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. “ Pharaoh was a vigorous opponent of God, and His chosen people, the Israelites. The word of God states that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart (Exodus 7:13). The hardening of Pharaoh’s heart was part of our Master’s plan to demonstrate the almighty power of God. Also, God’s word says, “…I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:7).
You know how it is when you have read from God’s word some scriptures, and you know in your head that the information is true, but than those occasions come when the Lord later illuminates those same scriptures, and the message penetrates to the core of the soul?! That is what happened to me today. Some opposition presented itself…and immediately in my spirit, I declared, “They are my help.” It became vividly clear to my spirit that those who opposed me were on assignment from God to strengthen me in my resolve to choose to believe what God states in His word – that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). The encounter further cemented that our Lord is able to provide much proof that truly, He is above it all. It is one thing to hear it or read it – it is another thing to be fully persuaded that what God promises, He is able also to perform (Romans 4:21).
The Lord mentioned to me recently that it is “Showtime” and that He is the Star. The show has featured performers, some bit players, some extras, and a few who make cameo appearances. God is the Star, Promoter, Financier, Producer, and Director. God’s faithful people are the stellar cast members - while the devil, his demons, and those that perform for them are the hired help. When God’s people are on set, they busy themselves fulfilling the meaningful roles arranged by God. One of those assigned roles is to strive to recruit some of the hired help to become part of the stellar cast.
In this universe, everybody works for God – God’s people, and the devil, and his people. Indeed, Satan is the god of this world but he still works for God. He is able to do only what God allows, and what God allows, God controls. The devil must have God’s “endorsement” before he can proceed with anything. God’s people know that they work for God as opposed to many of the devil’s people who do not know that they work for the devil who works for God. The devil has his people deceived – that is why they so foolishly follow his commands. The devil is treacherous, conniving, cunning, and his intent is to keep people in wicked bondage. But unlike the kingdom of God, the kingdom of Satan shall be destroyed. O glory to our Almighty Father, Jesus Christ is the risen Savior who is here to make the captives free, and whom the Son makes free is free indeed!
The Lord urges us throughout His word not to be afraid or dismayed because He is our fortress who employs us to be courageous in the midst of opposition. Remember that Jesus was asleep in the boat during a great storm. The disciples were afraid. Jesus was at peace. He let it be known that the sea, and the wind worked for Him. They had to obey His commands because He rules over all creation!
People of God, it is growing increasingly essential that we know our position in the body of Christ. This is a place in our lives where lax performance can no longer be tolerated without painful consequences from God due to continual lack of devotion to His will. God is expecting more from us, and rightly so! He is weary of the devil’s people being more loyal to their father than we are to our Father God. We need to war a good warfare with the awareness that we work for God. He is the absolute best Employer who provides the best rewards, the best benefits, the best wages, and the best contract for the righteous – a covenant for everlasting life!!! Everybody works for God. We are all on assignment for God - He rules over all, and His kingdom cannot be destroyed because from everlasting to everlasting He is God!
