Scriptures are from the King James Holy Bible.
Yes, we shall be tested. Our Lord allows it for His
holy purposes and to purge and prune us so that we can bear more fruit for His
glory.
We tend, at times, to attach ourselves too closely to things. We can even be prone to put things before the care about people. Things are NOT of more value than people. We need to keep things in perspective.
Last night our Lord reminded me about my misplaced priorities. I had to repent and to ask GOD and a person to forgive me...
1 Peter 1:22
Seeing ye have your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.
Philippians 3:8, 10

Philippians 3:8, 10
Yea doubtless, and I count all things
but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom
I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may
win Christ.
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable…
Colossians 3:1, 2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
1 Peter 2:5
...to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
GOD tested Abraham to reveal whether he loved GOD more than he loved his son of promise, Isaac. Abraham proved willing to sacrifice his son for GOD. GOD stopped Abraham from slaying Isaac. Once it was revealed that Abraham was willing and obedient…, GOD provided a ram in the bush…

First Things First
ReplyDeleteYou and I are on the same page, Sandra. It's all about priorities if we are claiming victory. That last paragraph was placed in your post for me. Once again, facing a mean custody battle over our little 5 year old Susanna. Bio father moved away and wants to take her so it's back to court (next month) and the spiritual warfare, once again, tries to steal the Word. I've been thinking how Abraham had to choose the Lord over his offspring, but God provided a ram...I'm choosing the Lord, my provider. My daughter will love this, too!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mary
Oh Mary, so sad to hear about this. Will pray that God will work His wonders in this situation, and that Susanna will not become a bystander to a tug-of-war that the enemy wants to win.
DeletePraying...
Bless you all.
Sandra, timely words for me. I am in a *season* of letting go of things - mostly relationships that are changing and evolving, and it's not easy.
ReplyDeleteBut, it is in giving up the things closest to me that God does His best work of pruning. And, so often, afterwards He restores the things I have surrendered.
GOD BLESS!
