Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Our Lord has again stressed to me the urgency of the application of His Word, the Holy Bible, in our daily affairs. GOD'S Word is our sword that commands priority status. The Word of GOD is alive and we thoroughly thrive when we think it, speak it, hear it, and DO it. Without its regular application, we wither on the Vine. If we fail to attend...we risk death on the Vine.
Recently I heard a pastor say that for some people the Word got in but it didn't get down, and for some the Word gets down but it doesn't come up.
Today our Lord said to me, "Getting down with the Word and coming up with JESUS."
Bishop T. D. Jakes' message yesterday was titled, "In the Presence of Beasts." One scripture that he used was Mark 1:13 which states about JESUS, "And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan: and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him."

Jakes said the following in reference to his topic:
- You have to go ahead in the presence of wild beasts.
- Smile in the presence of beasts.
- God will provide for you in the presence of beasts.
Our Lord reminded me that in Matthew 4, JESUS came against Satan's opposition with the Word of GOD. Christ repeatedly said to the devil, "It is written."
Here is a bit of what is written about the Word of our Lord:
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Psalm 119:11
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalm 119:140
Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.
James 1:22
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Revelation 3:21
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

GETTING DOWN WITH THE WORD...
ReplyDeleteThe roaring lion seeking whom he may devour - hopefully we will be SO full of God's Word that we will taste awful to the enemy and he will have no choice but to spit us out!
ReplyDeleteYes! The Word of God will be more and more essential as we near the end times. We don't know when that is. But we will desperately need the Word in our hearts. Great post!
ReplyDeleteHi Marijo -
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and commenting.
Yes, Amen - Let us stay full of GOD'S Word with steadfast obedience to it.
Hi Karen -
ReplyDeleteYou expressed, "The Word of God will be more and more essential...
"But we will desperately need the Word in our hearts."
You spoke volumes, Karen.
Thank you so much for agreeing about the vital need to be about GOD'S Word.
OK, first of all - I LOVED the pictures of you! My very special warrior sister in the Lord's army!! You just knew, didn't you, that I'd be out here shouting an "Onward, Christian soldier"?!
ReplyDeleteI am so blessed tonight reading the wonderful words from the Word about the Word. There is nothing that comforts me, challenges me, convicts me, and encourages me more than the Voice who speaks through Scripture.
May I learn to fight my battles by starting my offense with the words of Jesus - "IT IS WRITTEN!"
Loved the last verse from Revelation - may I be counted among those who, through the power of the Holy Spirit, overcomes...
GOD BLESS!
Hi Sharon -
ReplyDeleteGlad you loved the pictures. I knew that you, another warrior sister, would relate...!
Yes, the reading of our Lord's Word is a sure solid potent blessing indeed.
I agree, Sharon - embrace and live heartily by, "IT IS WRITTEN!"
Truly...you are counted among those who have an address in the city...
Hebrews 11:15 - KJV
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Hebrews 4:12...great verse. He discerns the very thoughts and INTENTS of our hearts! He knows motive and detail, He leaves nothing uncovered or unknown!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! You are beautiful! You look like a true warrior woman of GOD! :)
