Greetings -
Scriptures are from the King James Bible.
Many have heard someone say "I gave him/her a piece of my mind."
Well, here the word piece is replaced with the word peace. I purpose, with steadfast deliberation, to regularly give Satan a peace of my mind.
The Holy Scriptures tell us that we are to have the mind of Christ - 1 Corinthians 2:16. The Word also tells us these things about peace:
Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
We are charged in James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
If the devil has our minds, we gave them to him. Too many Christians cave to Satan and his evil practices. I was one of those Christians until our Lord told me that it was time for me to grow up and to steadfastly fight to keep my stand against Satan. Satan is NOT going to willingly give us any ground. Matthew 11:12, "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force." God is "the God of forces" - Daniel 11:38. We are to be spiritually violent - NOT physically violent. Our survival depends on us using spiritual violence against the powers of darkness. If we elect to be spiritual wimps, Satan will triumph over us.
With the power of Almighty GOD invested in me, I decree that that ain't happening to this blood bought child of the Most High! I'm not begging Satan for nothing (bad grammar used on purpose). I'm handling what's mine, as given by our great and awesome Lord. That is my appointment and, with the help of GOD, I purpose to keep it!
The other day I heard a pastor say about his spirituality, "I'm not a gambler; I'm an investor." Amen to that. We need to daily invest in the kingdom of GOD to reap eternal dividends. In these days of increased evil, Christians are in peril if in states of rebellion against GOD, and if daily time isn't spent in the presence of our Lord through Word study, prayer, and thanksgiving. It is more and more dangerous out here, people. 2 Timothy 3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." We have a responsibility to wax stronger and stronger in our Lord. The Bible tells us that we are to possess the kingdom - Daniel 7:22.
Awhile ago, our Lord gave me a revelation that self-pity is sin. It is used by Satan to have us to focus on ourselves. When we focus on ourselves, we aren't focusing on GOD. Our Lord's Word tells us that if we keep our minds stayed on Him, we will have perfect peace.
Yesterday, when the 5.8 earthquake hit here in D.C., I was about to enter my apartment unit door. The door shook violently for more than a few moments. At the time, I didn't know what had caused the shaking. What did I do? My spirit was completely at peace, and quickened in a posture of, "Have no fear, JESUS is here." I put the key in the shaking door and came into my unit. I do recall silently thinking something like, "Lord, whatever this is, it's not bigger than You." A few minutes later, on the Internet, I read that we had had an earthquake.
Satan's mission is to frustrate Christians, to wear us down, to devour us, to deceive us and, ultimately, to destroy us. Well, I go on record to state that our missions should be to frustrate Satan, and to resist him firm unto the end through the power of Almighty GOD. How do we frustrate Satan? When he attacks with his persecutions, such as mind games, hindrances, false accusations, and lies - we retaliate against his wickedness when we habitually choose to do the following: live holy, quote to him the Word of GOD, remind him that GOD ALWAYS WINS, praise GOD, sing in worship to GOD, do victory dances, witness to unbelievers, and think, say and do other actions that glorify GOD. Satan hates when we celebrate GOD, and share of His love, mercy and forgiveness. GOOD! I heard one pastor say, "Torment the tormenter." When we glorify GOD, Satan is tormented.
Satan is a low "life." We are commanded by GOD to be of the high life. Colossians 3:1,2, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of GOD. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." Our Lord is displeased when we elect the low over the high. GOD is never low. He is forever high. Certainly, we falter but more and more, we should be found spiritually in high places.
Let's steadfastly purpose to give the devil a peace of our minds in Christ JESUS!
2 Peter 1:2
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.

Give satan HELL, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteHi Clint -
ReplyDeleteYes, Amen
You look so FUN in that photo! Did you get all shook up? And now a hurricane....I think Our leader should take note of the current stances taken on Israel and giving away their covenented land etc....those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed...oh, dear.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one. The play on words caught my attention and what you build from is convicting! It occurred to me while reading that sometimes when we give the devil a foothold, we are also giving him a "piece" (literally) of our mind!
ReplyDeleteOh Sandra I wish I could give you a hug! I love this. I rebuke Satan on a regular basis myself. We are God's sheep. And He doesn't take kindly to rustlers. : ) May God bless you abundantly! Thanks for your blog.
ReplyDeleteI really loved this one! Torment the tormentor - never really thought of it that way! My sister sent me this in an email once:
ReplyDelete"Be the type of woman that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, the devil says, 'Oh heck. She's up."
I think that sums it up. Lately I've been doing some serious battling. I'm a little worse for wear, but with the strong aid of our Savior, I am standing firm.
Praise His name!
GOD BLESS!
(Interesting, Sandra - Monday I'm posting something about the enemy - about cutting him down to size...)
I have been in some serious battle against the prince of evil. I have been attacked, my family has been attacked and friends I know have been attacked. But through it all I saw and see the hand of the evil one at work so I dove into His
ReplyDeleteWord and praised God through the attacks. It took a while, about 3 weeks for the attack to break.
Prayer is the key, intense prayer by praying the Word of God, standing on His promises wearing His armour.
I love how you said, "Let's steadfastly purpose to give the devil a peace of our minds in Christ JESUS!"
I love your shirt! Looks great with the white pants.
Blessings,
<><

ReplyDeleteSpiritual Warfare - I believe you just covered it and covered it well. Thank God for Jesus AND you!
ReplyDeleteMy precious sister warrior Sandra... aren't you all set for warfare!!! Love this post and your sweet photo with that wonderful eagle shirt. Thank you so much for your spiritual wisdom and insights invested in His Kingdom and for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteYou give that ole varmit a good piece of your PEACE of mind and let'em see you got that victory!
Oh yeah..hallelujah! Just the right piece of warfare I needed to read to be off to church to slay some of 'dem'der lying spirits and strongholds trying to infiltrate and shake us, but we will not be shaken.
Thanks so much for your word for me and precious visit. EnJOY always seeing how well you are armed and arming others. Hope all are listening.
Praise God! He is baring you on eagles' wings... and I'm soaring with you... thanks! Sharon needs some... but I'm glad to see she read this and has a little spitfire coming on Mon. Good for her! Stay safe and wise in the Lord!
Many blessings and much love,
Peggy
"Torment the tormenter." What a powerful thought. and I love the insert picture of you taken the day before. Those scriptures gave me the chills. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe passages you quoted are all so relevant. Indeed, Satan needs to be attacked with weapons of peace, because that is so powerful a weapon, he has nothing in his arsenal to match it.
ReplyDeleteYour words on this post are all so timely and much needed.
Thank you for listening to God adn sharing what He speaks to you,
Blessings of peace, dear Sandra...
