DANCE OF FIRE

I wrote the content on this blog with sincere and holy intentions with the knowledge that I had at the time... We live, learn and amend...as errors are exposed and more truths are revealed...

Only GOD is perfect. It's vital that you seek the Lord to expose any errors that you've embraced. Please ask Him to expose any areas of darkness to you and for what is necessary to do to dispossess what's NOT of truth.

POETRY: DANCE OF FIRE

Flames of fire dance joyfully as dreams of fervor conjure up images of red hot passion for the gusto of life.

Sizzle, spark, explode -

Fireballs light up the sky. Wow! a thunder flash with a clap -

The flames are vivid with the awesome glow of orange colors blended with yellow highlights that accent the blaze.

This display is the bomb torched with a rocket plan. Such rapture has lit our fire. We are dynamite on this journey.

Come on fire, fall on us. Pour your liquid potency. Ignite our souls that we may be engulfed with magnified intensity.

Blow up our hearts. Dance with us....

Sandra

ELDERLY LOVE

Greetings -

Many elderly people are lonely, neglected and depressed.  Some in nursing homes do not get regular visits.  Some cannot reasonably afford basic necessities.  So many of them are barely surviving.  There have been reports of the elderly being abused by their family members.  They are considered, by some, to be easy prey for scams and deceptive practices.

To me, they are golden citizens and my prayer is that more people seek the Lord for how to better serve the golden citizen population.

Prayer:

Father, in the name of JESUS,  please guide us as to how to wisely love on those who are elderly.  Provide us with the guidance to minister to their needs in ways that are the most helpful.  Let us NOT consider them a burden but a blessing.  Show us how to reach out to them to extend appreciation for their contributions and sacrifices.  Let us give of ourselves more to the elderly.  Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ."   Teach us Lord, please, how to do that in ways that bring You joy, pleasure and delight.

Thank you, Lord - Amen

  1. Oh, you need to meet the Hinkle Family (http://hinklefamily.org/hf/index.htm) They are missionaries to nursing homes here in the States. Pop Hinkle plays the accordian and his children play various instruments. They visit our church at least once a year to keep us up to date on their activities. Their son and daughter-in-law are my Friends on FB and they always post the nursing homes they visit each day. The travel across the south, and are based here in Texas. They do have CDs of their gospel music available. When they visit the home, they provide gospel singfests, involving the residents and Pop will preach a sermon, too. I do so enjoy their photos on FB of the people they bring joy to with their visits. Every nursing home visit is a blessing. Who knows when we'll get there!!

  2. I have been privileged to be part of a weekly ministry to an assisted living facility for the elderly in our area. I've done this for about a year and a half. We sing old hymns, we pray, and three of us compose and share a 10-minute "talk" - encouraging them in the Lord.

It's always such a blessed time. They are so grateful, and yet, they bring such a blessing to my spirit. There's something so very touching about watching older people come to meet the Lord - some in walkers, some in wheelchairs, some barely shuffling along in slippered feet. We always make a point of offering an invitation to come to the Lord, just in case someone hasn't yet made that decision.

My most poignant moment - when we all sang "Jesus Loves Me" with hand motions. Everyone remembered the words - and to hear their voices sing together - off-key, raspy, loud, quiet - as precious as the voice of angels.

"And the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!" (Matthew 25:40)

    GOD BLESS!

  3. Yes, I worked in a nursing home as a nursing assistant for 8 1/2 years, and many of the people I took care of seemed to just not have anyone. I think that especially around the Holidays that are coming up, the elderly need more attention, and need to know that they are loved, but not just loved with human love, but Godly love.

  5. I love elderly people! We just had a senior luncheon/bingo event at church. Some residents from our nursing home even got to come. Such a blessing to fellowship with all of them.
