DANCE OF FIRE

I wrote the content on this blog with sincere and holy intentions with the knowledge that I had at the time... We live, learn and amend...as errors are exposed and more truths are revealed...

Only GOD is perfect. It's vital that you seek the Lord to expose any errors that you've embraced. Please ask Him to expose any areas of darkness to you and for what is necessary to do to dispossess what's NOT of truth.

###

POETRY: DANCE OF FIRE

Flames of fire dance joyfully as dreams of fervor conjure up images of red hot passion for the gusto of life.

Sizzle, spark, explode -

Fireballs light up the sky. Wow! a thunder flash with a clap -

The flames are vivid with the awesome glow of orange colors blended with yellow highlights that accent the blaze.

This display is the bomb torched with a rocket plan. Such rapture has lit our fire. We are dynamite on this journey.

Come on fire, fall on us. Pour your liquid potency. Ignite our souls that we may be engulfed with magnified intensity.

Blow up our hearts. Dance with us....

HOLY BIBLE LITERACY

Greetings -

Scriptures are from the King James Bible.

Last week I read the following in the April 2011 edition of Charisma magazine:

-  "Among professing Christians or nominal Christians, there is less and less regard for Scripture, which is translating into more biblical illiteracy."

-  "A recent study by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life found 37 percent of Americans read the Bible at least once a week, but only 16 percent of Americans read it daily.  About six in 10 Americans read the Bible at least on occasion, down from three-fourths in the 1980s, according to a recent study by the Center for Bible Engagement."

This morning in my Bible reading period, our Lord placed this question in my heart, "Is biblical ignorance a sin?"  I answered, "I believe so."  He agreed, and added, "Of course, the greatest sin is not DOING what the Holy Bible mandates."

Question -

If we didn't have our Bibles in our physical possessions, how much of it could we bring forth from our memories?

Beginning about two years ago, our Lord emphasized to me the vital necessity of having more of the Holy Bible in my memory.  After I obeyed Him and committed to having more of His Word memorized, there came a day that I couldn't access my Bible.  A future post will share more about why.  On that day, deep persecution came my way.  Thanks be unto our Lord who had prepared me.  For more than a half hour, I was able to quote Scriptures out loud without repeating any of them.  Our Lord had me on a Scriptural memory roll.  It aided me immensely in that crisis situation.

Note: My experience has been that the King James Bible is the easiest Bible to memorize.  Also, I firmly believe that it is a more spiritually potent and powerful version to read.  I did a previous post about the Bible version issue.  That post received more than 50 comments - some that agreed and others that didn't agree.  Here is the link to that post    http://lioneaglesoar.blogspot.com/2010/12/original-king-james-bible.html

May we all dig in deeper to the Word of our Lord.  It is Spirit and it is our LIFE.  We cannot afford to be biblically ignorant.  It is dangerous to neglect the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of GOD.  According to Ephesians 6, we are commanded to be fully armoured in GOD.  The sword is a vital part of His armour for us.

Mark 12:24
And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

ADDED SUNDAY APRIL 10, 2011:

This addition to "HOLY BIBLE LITERACY" was added today after I watched Bishop T. D. Jakes' live streaming Sunday service this a.m.  His Sunday services are broadcast live on the Internet and re-played all day Sundays on www.ThePottersHouse.org/.

Our Lord pleasantly surprised me when I viewed Jakes' service today.  The three main scriptures that he used in his sermon are the very same three scriptures that I used in my comments yesterday in response to Clint.  Here are excerpts from my comments with the subject three scriptures highlighted in yellow:

Excerpts -

Some months ago, I met a Christian (NOT a babe in Christ) who told me that she didn't read GOD'S Word every day.  My mouth flew open - I was appalled.  People who profess Christ as Lord and Savior and don't do daily Bible reading are suspect to me.  One reason is because years ago, when I missed daily Bible reading, my character was carnal, and NOT spiritual.

I am more wary of carnal Christians than I am of bonafide sinners.  Bonafide sinners, typically, don't know the Word of GOD to do it but carnal Christians, typically, know enough to KNOW BETTER BUT CHOOSE NOT TO DO...  To me that indicates that they can be spiritually dangerous.  Some of my experiences with carnal Christians have proven that to be truth.  These scriptures come to mind from Luke 11:24, 25,26 - KJV, "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.  And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.  Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself: and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first."

And Titus 1:16 - KJV
They profess that they know God: but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

1 John 2:4 - KJV
He that saith, I know him and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Also, I have encountered too many Christians who don't know much of GOD'S Word from memory.  That is definitely not good....

  1. I am always skeptical of polls that show "85% of Americans say they are Christians", or "16 % say they read the bible daily", etc, etc.

In my experience, what folks SAY about being a Christian and what they actually PRACTICE are two different things. I suppose it sounds good to say you are a Christian, or that you read the bible, or that you attend church. But I believe the numbers are inflated.

Or, as the old spiritual says, "Everbody talkin' 'bout heaven ain't goin' there."

  2. Excellent points. I agree relative to the label Christians. Many use the label but do NOT do the Word of GOD. That is one reason that I use terms such as, "holy unto the Lord," "truth walkers," "SON warriors," "SON dwellers," and "true worshippers of GOD." Blogger Sharon placed on her blog, "walking with JESUS" - I love that terminology, as well.

Of course, I know that "Christians" is in the Holy Bible but it has been so loosely used to apply to scores of people who do NOT walk in the truth of our Lord...

Also, that is why our Lord told me to include in this post the following:

"Of course, the greatest sin is not DOING what the Holy Bible mandates.

    "Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

In addition, I have encountered too many Christians who don't engage in daily reading of GOD'S Word. The Bible clearly instructs otherwise, as in Joshua 1:8.

  3. Very wise advice about digging into the Word more and more and keeping much of it, on our tongue, so to speak.

I am not good on memorizing stuff, but God is quickening my mind!!

    Blessings,

  4. I believe as you read more of the word it will come to you readily as you need it. There was a time when I really had to depend on the word during a season of unemployment so I fully got into the word and studied corresponding scripture to fit my particular situation and find it not all that surprising when Pastors quote it from the pulpit and I am able to identify it and or quote it along with them.

  6. A powerful and holy exhortation, Sandra. I am a bit convicted by it. (That's a good thing, by the way). All too often, I find myself thinking, it says that "somewhere" in the Bible. You have inspired me to start memorizing God's wonderful Word. It's my sword. And it doesn't do much good when I'm in the thick of the battle with the enemy to say - just a second, I have to go get my sword. It should be on my lips...

So, thank you, for your word today.

    GOD BLESS!

  7. Hi Sharon -

Yes, conviction can be beneficial for us all. We need reminders.

Glad you are inspired to start memorizing. That is wise, Sharon, because we just don't know if we can always have the physical Holy Bible at the ready.

You expressed, "And it doesn't do much good when I'm in the thick of the battle with the enemy to say - just a second, I have to go get my sword. It should be on my lips..."

    Well stated, Sharon.

You are certainly welcome my sister warrior.

  8. I went through a season years ago of what you mentioned here..."know enough to KNOW BETTER BUT CHOOSE NOT TO DO..."

I was as dry as brown toast...

Now the daily word from the Bible is my sustenance...can't go a day without it....

I know that as she seeks You daily, as each of us stay in the Word, we receive from You our daily bread, our very life... and this keeps us in Your Spirit and not our flesh. May we abide in You as You abide in us. Thank You for such thought provoking and inspired Word given here to give You the glory that we may be filled with Your power! hallelujah! Yes, O Lord, show us approved unto You, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth! You are the Word! You are our Truth! You are the breathe we breathe! Let us drink deeply from Your well and never run dry, but thirst for You until eternity. May be meditate on Your Word day and night, being filled with Your power as she is...

  11. Hi Peggy -

I praise GOD for your fire, sister warrior. It is such encouragement to commune with fervent truth walkers in the gospel of the kingdom of GOD!

You expressed, "Let us drink deeply from Your well and never run dry, but thirst for You until eternity."

    Yes, Amen

    John 7:38 - KJV
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Thank you,Lord for being "the fountain of living waters" - Jeremiah 2:13

    Prayer:
Let us continue, please Father, to hunger and to thirst after righteousness - to be filled by You - the only ONE who can quench that which You have placed within us - created for Your glory....

    Thank You, Lord - Amen

  12. Very interesting Sandra. Powerful post. I wasn't able to get on blogland this weekend, but in prayer this morning, prior to reading your blog, the following came to my spirit: "It's good to memorize, but even more important to apply the Word to our lives."

Why was I dwelling on this just this morning? I have a relative that does a fantastic job at memorizing scripture, teaches Sunday school and teaches her kids and teens to memorize scripture. In fact, she was one of my students when she was a teen and I always made Scripture memorization as a priority in our youth group and as a camp counselor. But this morning I thought to myself, did I fail them? Did I not teach them how to apply the Word? Because discipleship goes beyond memorization to application of the Word.

As I observe my relative's life style today, she can possibly out quote me word for word and know the scripture references maybe better than I do. However, the concepts of what she's memorized she fails in general to apply. I'd rather know the Word and live it and look up the missing references that I sometimes forget, than to be a whippersnapper at quoting verse and reference and not live it.

The 3 verses that come to my mind most frequently in reference to this are:
James 1:22-25, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says..." (NIV)

Ps. 119:11 "Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee." (KJV)

Matt. 4:4 "...It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.'" (KJV)

    Amen

  13. Hi Beverly -

Thank you for visiting and commenting.

You made some very excellent points. I wholly agree that we must be doers of the Word of GOD...
That is why I included in the post these words,
"This morning in my Bible reading period, our Lord placed this question in my heart, "Is biblical ignorance a sin?" I answered, "I believe so." He agreed, and added, "Of course, the greatest sin is not DOING what the Holy Bible mandates."

    And these scriptures:

    Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

    Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

For reasons that I mentioned in the post, I firmly believe that the Holy Bible needs to be "written in our hearts" - 2 Corinthians 3:2 - where we can quote scriptures from memory. I cannot count how many times that such memorization has tremendously helped me in times of major need. Deep gratitude is what I have for the ability to do so...

Note: I can quote a bunch of scriptures from the Holy Bible but don't always know, from memory, where those quoted scriptures are found in the Bible. Presently, I am satisfied to be able to quote scriptures from memory. Perhaps later our Lord may have me to memorize the words, AND also be able to cite chapter and verse... He knows if that is His future plan... Right now I am happy to be able to quote scriptures from memory - with a heart to DO what pleases our Lord.

I can relate, though, to what you stated about having the ability to quote the Word but fail to do what it commands. If we don't do it, all else, for the most part, is vanity. Also, I believe that it mocks our holy Lord if we quote His Bible and don't do according to the words of GOD. We know that it is dangerous to mock GOD. I believe that we are in a "season" where our Lord is going to manifest how angry He is for the abundant mocking of Him that exists... Judgment "beginning in His sancturaries..."

    Again, I cite, 1 John 2:4 - KJV
"He that saith, I know him and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

GOD honors holiness - which mandates that we think His Word, speak His Word, hear His Word, and DO His Word. That is Holy Bible truth.

Today, I heard a pastor say, "We memorize to execute." That is one holy ideal.

Thank you, dear sister warrior for your excellent points.

  14. Hello Sandra, As a child I had to learn Bible verses by heart. I did so to win a prize, yet the wonderful thing is, down through all the years, those verses have remained strong and true... There are so very many I can recall for almost any situation. On the way to work my favourite was "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in the sight Oh Lord my rock and my redeemer.."
Then when I felt a spiritual battle I always use the Word as a two edged sword and begin as Jesus did by saying ,"It is writtten,..... Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Father." Then I would give the Word such as,"We battle not against flesh and blood but against pricipalities powers and rulers in high places,, but God has not given me a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind." and on and on.......until, I feel the oppression leave...Many years ago, the Lord gave me two scriptures I didn't know by heart at the time. It was in a time of great stress. I was in the kitchen making my childrens school lunches. Suddenly this verse came to me. I wrote it down word for word. Later I search my concordance to find it. I have several different bible versions but the one I found my verse in exact wording, was the King James..
You will know this verse yourself. "In all thy ways acknowledge me, and I shall direct thy paths." Many months later, in the shower, I was given the verse that comes before this. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding." Proverbs 3:5-6..
I am still amazed that He gave me verse 6 first and then later verse 5. In my Blog I usually use the New International Version. I do this for those who are new lambs. And of course my friend...there is praying continually in tongues..Much love CM xx

  16. This book will change your life. It's GOD's message of love and salvation right there for you in black and white. For those who haven't read it, you need to. I've been studying this since I was little and it's made such a great impact in my life. It's not intended to be read in order cover to cover though. Just start reading anywhere and I guarentee you'll find the answers you need. Here's a great way to read it: close your eyes and say a quick little pray asking GOD to show you what He wants you to know at the moment. Then open to a random page and start reading the first verse you see. It may not always give you what you want right there but it does give you what you need. GOD gave us the Bible to help us out so we can be with Him in heaven. Afterall, these are His Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.
