Sandra Crowned in our LORD'S gray glory |
Scriptures are from the King James Bible.
Today our Lord gave me these definitions for those of us, in His body, who have matured in age:
1.) Wrinkles = Life paths
Psalm 23:3
...he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Also, wrinkles = Life maps
2.) Gray hair strands = glory crowns
Psalm 8:5
...and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
3.) The things on us that have "gone south" = southern hospitality
Song of Solomon 4:16
Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.
The words "old age" are NOT, necessarily, bad terms - not according to GOD'S Word, the Holy Bible. Isaiah 53:1 asks, "Who hath believed our report?..."
And remember that GOD is old, young, and
middle-aged. We, His people, all gloriously fit. Let us sing, rejoice, and celebrate, and do as instructed in Philippians 4:11, "...for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."
Well, I hope that you enjoyed my "southern" hospitality (laugh).

WHO WILL CELEBRATE WITH ME?
ReplyDeleteSandra, this is wonderful! I love how you correlate wrinkles with life paths :) I have plenty!
ReplyDeleteI love coming by and my Spirit rejuvenated by your penned words sister. The path I'm walking on might have a big wrinkle now (at my workplace) but I know it would be straightened in His perfect time. Still not sure if He is closing this door or not (it's a long story because He took me away from being an Orthopedic nurse and brought me to Corrections when I got hurt in 1997. So, if I may ask for your prayers and thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am smiling now whenever I see a little gray hair sticking out. I arm myself with a little tweezer but I should start arming myself with "prayer" that it is found because I'm walking on the path of righteousness. To God be the glory!
May the Lord bless you sister and may His strength always be yours. "I am" and will always celebrate with you. "Let us sing a new song" to the One Who deserves all our praises and thanks.
Hi Gina -
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and commenting.
How interesting that you visited because recently you have been in my thoughts.
Glad you expressed, "...this is wonderful!"
Our Lord desires that we focus more on eternal matters...
Glory to His holy glorious name!
Every time I think of aging Sandra, and (I am older than you)I picture myself a baby on my father's (ancient of days) lap. Lev 19:32 gives us the hoary (gray) head of respect for the aged.
ReplyDeleteBy the way sister you so inspired me and my brother with your post, I wrote about it yesterday on my Alone blog. May God continue to work in and bless you my dear sister.
BTW, I truly enjoyed your southern hospitality! It's warm, serene, comforting and filled with His love...Who would resist eating His "fruits"? Only those who haven't tasted the sweetness of His Word, and who haven't known His gift of grace. May many more come to the Lord.

You expressed, "I am smiling now whenever I see a little gray hair sticking out. I arm myself with a little tweezer but I should start arming myself with "prayer" that it is found because I'm walking on the path of righteousness. To God be the glory!"
Hallelujah!
Your resolve to love and serve GOD is a faithful witness that inspires.
Certainly, you are in my prayers.
@Susie
Glad you were inspired. I love that Ancient of days term...
Wow! Susie, thank you so much for the Leviticus 19:32 scripture. I read it in full and it struck me deeply. I don't recall ever reading that before.
@All
Thank you for your kind words, saints of GOD.
@rcubes
ReplyDeleteHi again - glad you visited again so soon (smiles)
Glad to know that you enjoyed my southern hospitality.
GOD is so good!
Psalm 34:8 - KJV
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
HE is not done with us yet - creating us means all stages of life, wrinkles, changing hair color and all, eh?
ReplyDeleteHi Marijo -
ReplyDeleteYes - Amen - wrinkles - those life paths - are from our Lord - our LIFE GIVER!
Nice picture and analogies Sandra. I have to admit however, that I'm just not mentally there yet. :-)
ReplyDeleteI thank God for every year. So wonderful to meet a woman who celebrates that, too!

@Beverly
I understand...love to you, my dear sister in Christ.
@bluecottonmemory
Yes, thankfulness is due to our Lord indeed!
Thank you for your kind words. It is a pleasure to meet you, as well.
@bluecotton
I am the first one in line to watch you blow out your candles!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a beautiful woman of God - inside and out.
And witty, too - "southern" hospitality! Sandra, you're a hoot! And yes, I have some southern hemisphere issues, too :)
I shared with you that our birthdays are only 2 days apart - I will proudly be 57 this year! Seems impossible, but I'm owning it - and I'm wearing my "mature" lady crown with pride!!
GOD BLESS!
Hi Sharon -
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words.
I laughed, too, when our Lord gave me that "southern hospitality."
Glad to know that you are crowned with our Lord's glory.
I like what you've said here. I may only be going on 48, but I see the gray hair, and my body doesn't feel young any more. :-)
