Greetings -
A pastor preached a recent message on abiding in our Lord. He made a couple of particular points that spoke volumes. He stated, "Most of us visit GOD but we don't abide in Him." And he mentioned that some Christians date GOD rather than marry Him. The pastor's message stirred my soul juices, and penetrated immensely.
Scriptures from the King James Bible.
John 15:4-7
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered;...
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
John 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

DANCE OF FIRE
I wrote the content on this blog with sincere and holy intentions with the knowledge that I had at the time... We live, learn and amend...as errors are exposed and more truths are revealed...
Only GOD is perfect. It's vital that you seek the Lord to expose any errors that you've embraced. Please ask Him to expose any areas of darkness to you and for what is necessary to do to dispossess what's NOT of truth.

Flames of fire dance joyfully as dreams of fervor conjure up images of red hot passion for the gusto of life.
Sizzle, spark, explode -
Fireballs light up the sky. Wow! a thunder flash with a clap -
The flames are vivid with the awesome glow of orange colors blended with yellow highlights that accent the blaze.
This display is the bomb torched with a rocket plan. Such rapture has lit our fire. We are dynamite on this journey.
Come on fire, fall on us. Pour your liquid potency. Ignite our souls that we may be engulfed with magnified intensity.
Blow up our hearts. Dance with us....

ABIDE
ReplyDeleteThank you for this instructive and uplifting scripture.
ReplyDeleteOh, this post is "rich!" The analogy of dating, instead of marrying our Lord, is exactly what the majority, if not all, of my posts address. It's easy to say, and possibly do, as many Godly things as you can. But, it takes steadfastness and constant prayer and listening, to ABIDE in the Lord. Abiding in Him, is to wrestle our innermost demons, as we cannot abide in Him and let them rest contentedly in your soul. Love it! Looking forward to reading more! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteGreetings -
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and commenting.
@Clint
You are certainly welcome.
@Prayer Note by Cynthia
Youre so right that "...it takes steadfastness and constant prayer and listening, to ABIDE in the Lord."
There is NOTHING better to do... Time with our Lord is the best investment...
Dictionary definitions of abide:
ReplyDelete-to remain; continue; stay: Abide with me.
-to have one's abode; dwell; reside: to abide in a small Scottish village.
-to continue in a particular condition, attitude, relationship, etc.; last
-to endure, sustain, or withstand without yielding or submitting: to abide a vigorous onslaught.
-to wait for; await: to abide the coming of the Lord
-abide by, to act in accord with.
-to remain steadfast or faithful to; keep: If you make a promise, abide by it.
I think all of those definitions are inherent in the concept of how the Lord abides with us, and we are to abide in Him. The word abide, for me, also has a sense of serene calm - a resting peaceful condition - abiding with no worry or thought to the future. No, I'm not just hanging out with the Lord - I will abide, I will rest assured of my salvation, and with the knowledge that He holds on to me.
The Great Unchanging One abides in me - AMEN!
GOD BLESS!
Hi Sharon -
ReplyDeleteEvil darkness waxes worse but
Oh! Hallelujah! the light of GOD in us can burn more brightly to conquer the darkness. The darkness cannot "kill" the light but surely the light can kill and subdue the darkness. GOD is the brightest LIGHT and He can never be extinguished. NOTHING exists that can subdue the everlasting LIGHT, our Lord. Bless His holy name.
I like how you listed the definitions of abide. That is helpful, Sharon - thank you.
You expressed, "The word abide, for me, also has a sense of serene calm - a resting peaceful condition - abiding with no worry or thought to the future. No, I'm not just hanging out with the Lord - I will abide, I will rest assured of my salvation, and with the knowledge that He holds on to me."
That stirred my soul immensely. Yes, indeed.
"...serene calm..." Yes, Hallelujah!
