DANCE OF FIRE

I wrote the content on this blog with sincere and holy intentions with the knowledge that I had at the time... We live, learn and amend...as errors are exposed and more truths are revealed...

Only GOD is perfect. It's vital that you seek the Lord to expose any errors that you've embraced. Please ask Him to expose any areas of darkness to you and for what is necessary to do to dispossess what's NOT of truth.

###

POETRY: DANCE OF FIRE

Flames of fire dance joyfully as dreams of fervor conjure up images of red hot passion for the gusto of life.

Sizzle, spark, explode -

Fireballs light up the sky. Wow! a thunder flash with a clap -

The flames are vivid with the awesome glow of orange colors blended with yellow highlights that accent the blaze.

This display is the bomb torched with a rocket plan. Such rapture has lit our fire. We are dynamite on this journey.

Come on fire, fall on us. Pour your liquid potency. Ignite our souls that we may be engulfed with magnified intensity.

Blow up our hearts. Dance with us....

Sandra

PRAYER FOR THE ADDICTED...ADDICTED TO THE MINISTRY - 1 CORINTHIANS 16:15

Greetings -

This date, I had not planned to post, but of course, we know that GOD changes our plans...

It was interesting that this evening I watched on TBN, a Christian man, Ben Ward, who is on staff at a faith-based program called Eagle Creek Recovery Center - http://www.eaglecreekrecoverycenter.com/.  He gave his testimony that from the age of 12, he began to drink alcohol which led to pot, and a crack cocaine addiction.  It was interesting because Ben's testimony was broadcast on the same date (original broadcast date was yesterday - re-broadcast today) that I posted my last installment of "...HE LEFT ME AND MOVED IN WITH THE WOMAN NEXT DOOR..."  http://lioneaglesoar.blogspot.com/2011/02/part-4-he-left-me-and-moved-in-with.html For those who may not have read the subject post, it had mentions of crack addiction.

Ben testified that before he became a staff member at Eagle Creek, he was a client there.  He had these things to say:

- He became "intimately acquainted with truth."

- There is no freedom in sobriety to change the human heart.

- Only the indwelling Spirit of Almighty GOD can change the heart.

Ben went on to advise parents and other loved ones of addicts.  He said to release them, and to stop giving them money...  He said, "Get your hands off and GOD will get HIS hands on."

I praise GOD that Ben Ward shared his journey to freedom in CHRIST.

The prayer below is what our Lord told me to write and post.  The prayer and scriptures that accompany it are available for copy/print/distribution on my blog FREELY RECEIVED FREELY GIVEN at http://www.giftsfromglory.blogspot.com/.  Specifically, view under the separate tab there titled, "THE LORD DELIGHTS IN THE PRAYERS OF THE RIGHTEOUS."  It is shown as the [3] prayer.  For Conditions of usage,  please read in the content at the top of the Home page of FREELY RECEIVED FREELY GIVEN.

PRAYER FOR ADDICTION STRONGHOLDS:

For addicts

Pure and holy Father GOD, thank You that with You all things are possible.  Your Word states that there is nothing too hard for You.

In this prayer, I decree deliverance and complete freedom for drug and alcohol addicts.  Father, You know that among the many addicts, there are professional people* who are addicted, and that includes doctors and other medical professionals, some of who are addicted to prescription drugs.  There are people all over this world who are gripped by the bondage of addiction.  They are found in every economic class, race, culture, and persuasion.

Lord, I ask, according to Your Word, that You will set the captives free, set at liberty those who are bound, and send Your Word to heal them.  Let Your holy saints go forth to love on those who are gripped by the strong holds of demonic addictions.  Reveal the best ways to help them with Your Word as guide.   Allow Your Holy Ghost power to move within the ensnared hearts, and lead the addicted to run into Your healing arms.

Work Your marvels, blessed Lord, and prove to the doubters that You reign.  You are powerful beyond measure and only You can subdue and destroy the works of the Devil that hold people captive.  Get the "monkeys off their backs," Lord, and put JESUS in their hearts.  You are love, glorious Father GOD.  Let, please, Your rivers of living water pour forth as a miraculous fountain to wash people clean with the operation of Your Word and JESUS' righteous blood.  You are a Fortress, a Rock, a Strong Tower, and a very present help in the time of trouble.

Deliverance is a process.  Process people, please Lord, through all of the necessary channels to reach triumphant victories.  Equip them, glorious Father, to stand fully armored to vanquish the vicious "death" grips that Satan worked on them.  Teach them to have life and to have it more abundantly.  Let them taste and see that the Lord is good.  Teach them to fight the good fight of faith through steadfast obedience to You and Your Word.  Give them staying power.  Show them how to fight on their knees and on their faces in full dependence on You.  Remove them from toxic and negative relationships.  Let Your awesome anointing flood the souls of the many thirsty people.  Work in them, please, Lord, hearts that will not faint but press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of GOD in Christ JESUS.

For loved ones of addicts

Father, in the name of JESUS, help those who love and care for addicts.  There are Christians who have loved ones who are addicted to drugs and alcohol.  They hurt, Lord.  Please help them to continue to believe Your Word and to trust You to deliver and to destroy the works of the Devil.  Give them the strength to use their holy authority to keep faith in the powerful blood of JESUS.  Teach them, please, Father, to be still and to know that You are GOD.  Lead them to seek Your wisdom as to what to do, when, and how.
Assure them that they are NOT victims but blood bought heirs of You, Almighty GOD and joint heirs with JESUS.  Guide them to know that they can have peace, joy, and Your blessed assurances in the midst of their storms.  Let them shed the necessary tears of grief but then to dry their eyes and praise You, Lord.  You promised to keep us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on You.

Lord, those who are not Christians need salvation for themselves, and for their drug and alcohol addicted loved ones.  Please reach the hearts of the unsaved and distressed.  So many are in despair, Father.  But You can change and liberate weary and despondent conditions.  Please, Lord, prove to the many that are gripped by fear, pain and uncertainties that You love them hugely, and can effectively help in ALL matters.

Thank You, Lord - Amen.

UPDATE:

Please, note the excerpt below from the above prayer:

"Father, You know that among the many addicts, there are professional people* who are addicted,..."

  4. I really like this prayer. Especially the part where you say "Deliverance is a Process". Amen and Amen! I am intrigued in learning about addiction...I recently watched a program on HBO that talked about the biological factors involved in addiction. People are truly in bondage and they just cannot stop. Their bodies won't let them. They aren't bad people or weak...I don't think addiction is a character flaw or an excuse for bad behaviors. I think it is is indeed an illness, a disease of the brain. It's a physical problem, a psychological problem, and a spiritual problem. People need prayer, deliverance, grace, and compassion and not judgment. They need hope that they can be free if they want to be. They need practical help if need be from the professional medical communities. God can minister to the WHOLE person and get to the root!!!!!!

Freedom is not gained in an instant. It comes with a price. It is a process. Sometimes you have to fight for it. And sometimes folks get tired of fighting...it's easier to just give in. That's where the Body comes in...we have to help carry one another and stand in the gap until they are free. Why would anyone in their right minds CHOOSE that life? There is the key...they are not in their right minds. Many addicts are suffering from serious mental health issues in addition to their addictions. I think this is a beautiful prayer because it focuses on what God can do and it is filled with compassion and grace but authority and faith. There IS hope! God can deliver!!! Amen!

  5. Hi Mining for Diamonds -

You said much that is wise. Thank you for sharing what you believe, and that you know that GOD can deliver!!!

You expressed, "People need prayer, deliverance, grace, and compassion and not judgment...God can minister to the WHOLE person and get to the root!!!!!!

"Freedom is not gained in an instant. It comes with a price. It is a process."

Amen to that, Mining for Diamonds. Yes, indeed, Amen!

  6. After having had experience living with an enabler, I know first hand about getting out of God's way so He can work his magic. Great post.

  7. This was a really great post, Sandra. I know someone who has a son who is an addict. Oh my, the pain I have had to see in her eyes. I think your words will be very comforting to her and her family.

God is the Redeemer of all of us - and He is the One who can restore prodigals - whether they have wandered into addiction, or any of the myriad ways we can travel away from the Lord.

God is faithful - I join you in these prayers.

    GOD BLESS!

    (p.s. LOVED the Scriptures!)

    @Sharon
Yes, it is quite painful for the addicts and their loved ones but it is so wondrous that GOD can fix it all...

Thank you, Sharon, for joining in the prayer.

    @Faith Imagined
Yes, I love that quote from Ben, as well.

Praise our Lord that that is no power greater than Him!

  10. I have a dear friend that was an alcoholic and a crack addict and today she is a minister because like you said, the church kept their hands off and they prayed with fervency for her. Even though she was a crack addict she still kept pushing the doors to the church open because she knew that God was a deliverer; she never gave up hope. Truly prayer is the answer!

  11. Hi Nicole -

Thank you for visiting and commenting.

It is such an encouragement to read of how our Lord delivers people. Truly, nothing is impossible with GOD!

So glad to hear about your dear friend who is now a minister. I read where one pastor said that the former addicts in his congregation are some of the most loyal and dedicated to GOD.

Yes, Nicole, - prayer indeed answers...

  16. I am so grateful for Sandra's reminder for this post. It gives me the opportunity to speak of an addict -- my son-in-law. Four documented generations of alcoholism, with a dabbling into other mind-altering drugs and time in rehab. He, an aunt and a couple of cousins were in rehab at the same time. When they moved to Texas, he was reaching for his 'higher power' and spoke with our Pastor about the 12-step program, seeking advice.

Pastor said he didn't know about a 12-step program, but there was one step -- come to know Jesus Christ as personal Lord and savior. He is the highest power.

The truth is shown in his personal testimony, continued witness and faithfulness to God's service. May others come to know this, also.

  17. Hi Grammy Blick -

Oh! how blessed to know of your son-in-law's decision for Christ. We know that our Lord can change anybody. He keeps proving that He can and shall. Bless His holy name.

Yes, GOD is the highest power - the optimum - the utmost - the great Physician and proven Healer - the everlasting light and a sure way out of darkness.

Thank You, Lord, and may Your name be called upon for all that we need. Glory to You, precious Lord!!!

  18. I haven't fully read the entire content of your post. I will however come back to it and try to gain more understanding. I just wanted to give you a scripture from the bible and what he says about keeping company with outsiders. In 1 Corinthians 5:12 tells us its not our job to judge those outside the church.

You are leading example of how God wants you to Live. He allows you to demonstrate how a Christian should live. This give your friends opportunity to come to God by following your example. You are giving the counsel and the word from the bible. If they are not coming to God after you witness to them. Then you should not dwell on them.
