GOD'S ADVENTURE FOR ME IN CHARLESTON - PART 2 WITH A RESPONSE FROM RICK

Greetings -

Last paragraph from CHARLESTON – PART 1:

When Jesse and I walked into the diner, there was a man, who appeared to be Hispanic or Native American, seated on a stool near the front door. He nodded at Jesse (I believe they had some sort of previous acquaintance).  As I observed that simple nod from the man, I hesitated because I felt a strong desire to engage him.  But the Lord told me to move on. Jesse and I sat at a booth and ate.  When we got to the front to leave, the man was gone.

CHARLESTON – PART 2:

Jesse and I walked to the Greyhound bus station and the “man on the stool” (I’ll call him Stealth Lion) was there standing outside the station.  We often don’t know, but Stealth Lion had the “look” of a homeless person.  He began to prophesy.  I don’t recall all of what he said but I do remember him boldly declaring that God was going into the crack houses, and also that God was going to bring whores to salvation.

The anointing of GOD on Stealth Lion was deeply obvious to me.  It was obvious from his countenance, and his voice.  In tone and inflection, he spoke with holy authority.  At one point, as he prophesied, Stealth Lion pointed his finger in a holy authoritative manner.  I was in the place where he pointed.  I didn’t get the sense that Stealth Lion’s intent was to point at me, but that he was making holy emphasis.  Such power came from him that, when he pointed my way, my body involuntarily moved, by the Spirit, in response to the power of GOD that came forth from him.  I was in high charge spiritual delight mode from this GOD display!

While Stealth Lion was prophesying, he had this “posture” that there was no one there but him and GOD.  He appeared oblivious to natural surroundings.  His prophesying was for a few minutes but the impact that it had on me was enormous.  Four years later when I think about it, my heart is stirred.

I didn’t get the sense that Stealth Lion was a baby Christian or a carnal Christian.  The sense that I got was that He KNEW GOD on a very familiar level.  My sense was that GOD and he were knit.

I cannot remember whether Jesse was inside or outside the station while Stealth Lion was prophesying.  I do remember that there were a few people outside who also witnessed the prophesying but I cannot remember their reactions.

At some point, Jesse was out there when I was about ready to go back to the motel.  As I walked away, the Lord told me to go back to give $5.00 to Stealth Lion.  I obeyed, and felt led to ask him to come to my motel room.

A few minutes after I got to the room, Stealth Lion knocked on the door.  He came in and picked up the Bible and started reading.  At some juncture, he was quoting scriptures.  I got the sense that he truly knew GOD as a Friend.  Stealth Lion had this presence that he was comfortable wherever he was.  When he came in and picked up the Bible he did it in a way that was void of any hesitation that he didn’t know me.  It was like he knew GOD and that was more than enough for him.  I didn’t feel concerned that Stealth Lion picked up the Bible without asking.  I just moved fluidly into his flow because my spirit knew that he was with GOD.

At one point, Stealth Lion got close enough to me where I smelled alcohol on his breath.  I was quite surprised.  I asked him in a loving tone something like, “I’m not judging you but how can you have such holy authority and anointing from GOD, and drink alcohol?”  (Yes, I know that some Christians drink alcohol…)

Stealth Lion told me that he had been diagnosed as schizophrenic and that he couldn’t afford medication.  He said that he uses alcohol as medication, and to help him to cope with living on the streets.

I was spiritually confused because I have met many Christians who DON’T consume alcohol who DON’T have such holy power in flow as I had witnessed from Stealth Lion.  How could this be, I wondered?!

To this day, Stealth Lion is the only person in such a state (alcohol habit) that I have met with such a powerful anointing from GOD.  Numerous other Christians that I have met and/or encountered who have habitual sin in their lives have little or no holy anointed power.  I can use myself.  When I was in “sin” mode, I didn’t have holy anointing in powerful flow.  Samson lost his holy power when he disobeyed GOD.  How does Stealth Lion have it with an obvious alcohol habit?  To date, I have not received an answer.

Anyhow, Stealth Lion told me that he is Native American and that he was adopted by a Jewish man.  There was some indication that he was in relationship, to some extent, with his adoptive father.  As for his birth parents, adoptive mother, and why he became homeless, I cannot remember what he stated.  He told me that he gets food from the trash.  He stated that GOD has never allowed him to go hungry.  He indicated that he got some pretty good meals from trash, I believe, he said outside of stores, etc.  When he told me this, he didn’t share as if he desired pity.  It was as if he was sharing that GOD provides.  He also shared with me that, relative to churches, his experience was that smaller churches were more generous than the larger ones.

Later in the motel lobby, the manager was at the front desk.  Stealth Lion gave me a warning about her.  When he warned me, I didn’t get the sense that he knew her or about her but that, in his spirit, he discerned something unpleasant about her.  Later two of the motel employees shared with me about unpleasant aspects of said manager.  And on another day, my personal experience with her confirmed what had been shared with me.  No matter…love is to be shown, regardless.

The Lord led me to invite Stealth Lion to church with me on the following Sunday morning.  He accepted, and came to the motel to meet me.  The church van picked us up.  We arrived at the church and engaged in praise and worship.  Stealth Lion stepped away.  The pastor preached on precisely where I was spiritually.  I cannot recall the sermon but I do remember that it was precisely on point.  It further convinced me that I was exactly where the Lord desired me to be – spiritually and physically.

By the end of service, Stealth Lion hadn’t returned.  When we got ready to leave in the van, he was nowhere to be found.  We had to go.  I never saw Stealth Lion again.

Question: Can someone please help me to understand how Stealth Lion can possess such a powerful holy anointing with an alcohol habit?

Thanks again for sharing this with me.  Awesome adventure.  I think of this scripture in response to your question.

Ec 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

When we are religious we tend to always put people in a box and think that they must be a certain way for God to use them.  This scripture says that we all sin.  The problem we all face at times is that we tend to mistakenly make one sin worse than another.  If sin, in God’s eyes sin is sin.  No matter what it is no worse to God than any other sin.  Often what we as Christians consider a sin, is only a fault.  Though a person has yet to be set free does not mean that they are not crying out to be so.  If God had to find a perfect person with no sin, He would have no one to work through.  Paul died daily.  He dies to his flesh and it’s desires.  We all have died much but I have yet to meet anyone that is fully dead so to speak.  I think back years ago when the Holy Spirit asked me to lead a Bible study for the kids of a church.  We met in my home.  I was confronted one day by a kid saying, “how can you lead a Bible study and still smoke?”  This had always been a struggle for me as I had always cried out to the Lord to deliver me.  The church seemed to have the idea that if you smoked you couldn’t be a Christian.  That I have since learned is a religious spirit.  My response to this young man was this.  The Holy Spirit just put the words in my mouth.  He said that you can see what Rick struggles with but he can’t see what you struggle with.  How is one different than the other?  I also think of the scripture saying he that is without sin, let him cast the first stone.  The Lord gave me a article and teaching on that one with the emphasis as why is the stone in your hand in the first place?

I have come to the conclusion as the word says.  None of us are perfect.  It is only when the anointing hits do we become totally like him.  The scripture that says :

Ga 5:24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

The word Christ means anointed. When we are anointed our flesh is crucified...

Some people struggle with things that can be seen and others struggle with things only they and God know about.  God is the deliverer.  He delivers in His time and way.  It is really just like the Lord to use someone that is an alcoholic and to prophesy through.  He can use anyone at any time and can deliver anyone at any time.  His plans are far above ours.  He uses me and anoints me powerfully at times.  I am far from perfect.

I pray that this will shed some light on your question.

Sandra’s Comments:

After I read Rick’s comments, via e-mail, and at least one other comment from someone else, via e-mail, I prayed and asked the Lord for help understanding this matter.  He gave me this from 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 – KJV:

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

I tend to believe, based on what Rick stated and what is contained in the scriptures above, that it is a matter of the hearts.  Paul had a thorn in the flesh that he sought GOD for deliverance from.  And as Rick stated, "Though a person has yet to be set free does not mean that they are not crying out to be so."

I believe that there is a difference if we are NOT inclined for deliverance...

Certainly, there is more that I need to understand about this matter, but presently, the above scripture passages with what the Lord gave Rick to share – gives me relief, assurances, and comfort.

GOD'S ADVENTURE FOR ME IN CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - PART 1

THIS IS PART 1 - PART 2 WAS POSTED ON MONDAY JANUARY 17, 2011 

This is to share a bit about my adventure in Charleston, South Carolina in route to Tampa, Florida where I lived for six months.  These events happened about four years ago.  I have never fully understood some spiritual aspects of what transpired.  I seek help from other Christians as to what “meaneth this” (The Acts 2:12.)   I sincerely appreciate any insights that you are inclined to share, please.

Some may question my actions.  I am ENTIRELY certain that what I did was led of our Lord.  The Lord had me in a place of maturity in Him where I was prepared for the adventure(s).  Prepared does NOT always mean that there are no elements of “surprise.”  When the surprises surfaced, I was in a spiritual place to be unshaken by the challenges.

After I got my “pink slip” bonus after working in the D.C. Government for more than five years, and after mourning the shock, the Lord spoke to me, and told me to move to Tampa, FL for one “specific” reason.

I didn’t know anyone in Tampa – or so I thought.  Well, after some weeks, the “specific” reason somewhat evaporated.

A bit later, the Lord told me to “instead” go to South Carolina.  I didn’t know anyone there either, had never been there nor did I know much of anything about South Carolina.  I got on the phone and called Greyhound Bus Lines.  The Lord instructed me to ask the dispatcher to name some cities in South Carolina.  She did so and when she said, “Charleston,” the Lord informed me that that is where I needed to go.

So off I headed to Charleston, S.C.  As I sat in the bus station in D.C., reading my Bible, a Christian man came to me and began to engage me.  We talked a bit about the Lord and His Word.  The man slipped $20.00 into my hand, and gave me his card.  The engagement with the man made me feel more assurance from our Lord.

Later during a layover at another bus station, I met a Sunday school teacher.  She and I chatted briefly.  She was gracious to watch my bags while I went to the rest room, and I did the same for her.

It was dark when I arrived in Charleston.  Before I got there, I thought that it was a city somewhat smaller than D.C.  I got off the bus, and the area was remote with very minimal activity and a few buildings.  To say that I was surprised is an understatement.  My expression to the Lord was something like, “Now what, Lord?!”  I noticed a young man standing at a local bus stop.  I inquired of him about a motel.  He pointed yards away and there was a small motel right opposite the Greyhound bus station.  I thanked the young man and headed to the motel.  I learned that the desk clerk was a Christian.  We conversed briefly.  I had some savings, and sensed that I could use funds for about a
week-long stay at the subject motel.  A job hunt was priority, of course.

Once in the room, one of the first things that the Lord told me to do was to look in the Yellow Pages to find a church to attend.  He led me to the right church and the following morning, I phoned there.  They had a pick-up service so I made the arrangements to be picked up Sunday.  I had arrived in Charleston Friday night.

I was, for the first time in my life, living by faith on a whole different level!  Jobless, homeless, parents deceased, very small family circle that, for the most part, is not close, in a strange place where I knew no one…this was a doozy – for sure!  Before this episode in life, I had been gainfully employed since I was 17 years old (now 54) with about two short bouts of unemployment.  For years, I valued my financial independence, and was known for very rarely asking others for anything.  Being jobless, and being financially unstable at this sort of level was completely foreign to me.  But GOD…

It gets stranger – this new faith walk.  Bear with me because some recollection is fuzzy relative to time frame days, and times of day, but I DO remember the events quite well.  Later on the night of my arrival in Charleston, the Lord told me to go to the bus station.  The Greyhound station in Charleston is quite small in comparison to the one in D.C.  Also, the one in D.C. is open 24 hours.  The station in Charleston closes and reopens in the mornings.  I obeyed the Lord and walked over to the Greyhound station and there was a young man there who was standing outside the station waiting for entry the next morning.  He was reading a Bible. I engaged him.  He was receptive.  He informed me that he had come to Charleston for a job opportunity that had left him disillusioned so he decided to head back home.  He was seeking more spiritual help and our Lord led me to minister to him.  He was encouraged, as was I.

The more that I looked around the remote area of where the Lord had led me, I was puzzled.  Also, being from D.C. and now being remotely located was a concern, however, I did not complain but told our Lord that I was there to do His will, and if He decided that Charleston was my place – so it would be.  I trusted the Lord, in spite of my questions.

The next day, Saturday, the Lord spoke to me to go to the Greyhound station.  This was about late afternoon, I believe.  This time, I hesitated and said something to the Lord like, “I don’t have anything to go to the Greyhound station for,” and I began to do something else.  Immediately I heard the Lord speak to me in urgency to tell me to go to the Greyhound station.  Instantly, I moved to obey.  I got outside and saw this man sitting on a bench in front of the local bus stop which was yards from the station.  The Lord told me to go to the man.  The man (I’ll call him Jesse) and I were so receptive to each other that it was a sure solid spiritual flow when we conversed!  To this day, I cannot express in clarity what happened in the spirit realm with me and Jesse.  I don’t understand fully, and have told others about it and have not yet received explanations that I understand.

It gets stranger.  Jesse and I sat on that bench and talked for about an hour.  He informed me that he was waiting for the Greyhound to open the next morning, as he had plans to go to D.C.  This was about, I believe, 9:00 at night. The station would not reopen until the following morning.  I asked Jesse if he planned to wait there until the next morning.  He responded yes.  I believed that Jesse was in a “homeless” state.  As I sat there with him, he told me spiritual things about me that the Lord had previously told me.  Jesse gave me confirmations of what the Lord had shared.  Also, he was full of the Word of GOD.  He said that he was a military vet.  I asked him his military specialty.  He responded, “intelligence.”  I was stunned about this stranger that the Lord had sent me to “meet.”  Jesse and I were in intense communication engagement.  I had never experienced such.

At a point, the Lord told me to invite Jesse to my motel room to stay overnight.  I know to some people that sounds foolish, but I am ABSOLUTELY sure that the Lord told me to invite Jesse.  In fact, when the Lord spoke it to me – with His instruction – I felt a covering of peace that I have only experienced in similar manner one other time in my life with our Lord.  I believe that this is verbatim what the Lord spoke to me, “Invite him to stay in the room with you, he will not harm you.”  I felt entirely confident to invite Jesse – I did and he accepted.  I have NEVER invited a strange man to stay overnight with me – even as a non-Christian.  I have NEVER been asked by our Lord to do it again.  And I certainly do NOT recommend that others do it unless ABSOLUTELY sure that it is the Lord who guides in such a way.

Jesse came with me.  The room only had one bed.  I gave Jesse covers and a pillow to make a sleep spot on the floor.  We conversed briefly, watched a bit of T.V., and retired for the night.  Not once did I have any manner of anxiety.  Jesse said or did NOTHING even remotely representative of being flirtatious.  The next morning, before Jesse was due to catch the bus to D.C., the Lord told me to treat Jesse to breakfast at the diner a few blocks away.

Scriptures from the King James Bible

Ephesians 6:10-18

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 

And above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Satan is furious at the power that is increasingly more evident from the hearts of GOD'S faithful stewards.  The closer we get to GOD, the more enraged Satan becomes.  We must be diligent and vigilant because our adversary, the Devil, walks about AS a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour - 1 Peter 5:8.   But remember that we serve THE LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDA WHO PREVAILS!

The Devil will knock on our doors.  When he does we need to answer with GOD'S yoke destroying Words!  We are NOT to be shaken for we are in a kingdom that cannot be moved - Hebrews 12:27, 28.  The Devil cannot move GOD, but Oh Hallelujah, GOD can sure move the Devil.   

If persecution came your way today, thank our Father that we are counted worthy to suffer for His sake - The Acts 5:41.  Yet rejoice in the Lord, and again I say rejoice - Habakkuk 3:18. 

Remember that Satan cannot do anything against us without GOD's permission.  JESUS was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit - Luke 4:1.  GOD knew that JESUS in the wilderness with the Devil was a triumphant done deal.  A deal done by the predestination of the Almighty Only True and Living GOD!  JESUS went in with the victory and came out victorious!  He did not oppose Satan for the victory - he opposed Satan FROM the victory.  The victory place that was destined before the foundation of the world.   We cannot afford to allow Satan to fool us that he is running anything.  The only thing that he is running is out of time.      

The closer we get to the SON, the brighter our lights burn.  Arise, shine ; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.  For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee - Isaiah 60:1,2.

When we write our Words to glorify and celebrate our Lord, remember that Satan is reading what we write.  He aims to have us to doubt the Words of our Lord.  The witness of GOD is greater - 1 John 5:9.  Read on, Devil, read on.  None of these things move me and none shall make me afraid - The Acts 20:24 and Zephaniah 3:13.  The truth of the most High GOD is signed, sealed and delivered.

We, GOD's people, are of a holy blood line.  We follow the blood for we are justified by the blood, and we draw nigh by the blood!  That is the precious blood of JESUS who is the CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD -WHO REIGNS.       

And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the Lord is with them,... - Zechariah 10:5

...Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord - Romans 12:19

In the book of Revelation, writings were issued to seven churches.  Of the seven, only two, Smyrna and Philadelphia, didn't receive rebuke from our Lord.

Here is a modern day "writings to the seven churches":

LETTERS FROM JESUS

Behold!  Jesus has issued letters to seven modern day churches.  The churches, and His messages are as follows:

Unto the church called, Self-Righteous Cavern, write: I know thy works, and your conduct is an offence to God’s purposes.  There are reports that you believe that you are better than others.  You belittle the poor and afflicted, and mock my persecuted people.  You are puffed up, and conspire against my servants.  You trust in that which is vain.  In that place, there is confidence in the flesh, and disregard for the full gospel.  None of this pleases Me though you give much in tithes and offerings.  Holiness is what I respect.

Unto the church called, Sanctified Sanctuary, write: I know thy works, and am glad to be up in there.  You delight me with your high praises and strong worship.  I know that I am welcome there.  Your works prove that you are in love with the gospel.  So many of you are caught up in adoration of the mission of the full gospel.  You welcomed the drunks, addicts, whores, abusers, and the worst of the worst.  You loved the hell right out of them.  I saw Sarah, the ex-whore, from Drag Street, singing in your choir.  I saw Jim, the ex-drunk, usher in Mercer, the ex-pimp from Channel Avenue.  Yes, and he married Lizzy, the former main whore from the block.   And I am delighted that you welcomed the business people who fell prey to the deceitfulness of riches.  You reach out, and in to the hearts of the weary, and truly you do help them.  You did not do as the priest and the Levite did in the book of Luke – cross to the other side to avoid helping.  Thank you, people, for being doers of the word.  I love this demonstration of the fruits of My Spirit.

Unto the church called, Masquerading Mega, write: I know thy works, and you have huge numbers but little effect on the unbelievers.  They observe your “prosperity” but notice more your pretense, and low power.  They ask, how can it be so large and so minimal in impact?  You put on shows, and the counterfeit is obvious.  Your people dally with the world, and expect to be My friend.  You have a remnant there that proves faithful to my gospel.  I am so pleased with their obedience.  A huge church with few faithful.  What is amiss there?

Unto the church called, “Straddle Sanctuary, write: I know thy works, and groan at your compromise.  You dance with the world, and claim to live for Me.  You profess holiness but your works prove otherwise.  Double-mindedness is a reproach to my causes.  You call evil good and good evil.  I am aware of how you disrespect my loyal servants who are steadfast for Me.  You do not appreciate their loyalty to the truth.  Who is on the Lord’s side?  Let the deeds reflect it.  Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.  Resist the Devil – or else he will devour.

Unto the church called, Dry Bones Dregs, write: I know thy works, and yawn at your barrenness.  The people are unenthusiastic, bored, and uninspired.  What goes there?  God is bold, exciting, vibrant, stimulating, and full of Spirit.  You are faithful in attendance but dry in heart.  When some there exhibit joy and expressive worship, you shun their displays.  They are the ones on point with the holy message.  You shun them!  You’d be wise to learn from them.  What a relief that they are there!  I urge you to engage in powerful fellowship with Me.  I am the Risen Savior who is alive forever more.

Unto the church called, True Worshippers, write: I know thy works, and recognize that you are in my perfect will.  You continually worship Me in spirit and in truth.  Donald, the former atheist, testified that your love won his soul.  Meagan turned from witchcraft when your witness changed her heart.  Some religious folks who thought they were saved came to know true salvation.  Why?  Because you proved Me to their frozen hearts.  I find you generous in your sacrifices to Me.  You are unabashed in your focus on what delights the Most High.  It is such a pleasure to be your Lord.  You are getting it done in My name, and most assuredly, abundant rewards are yours!

Unto the church called, Deceived in the Way, write: I know thy works, and ask, “How long will you continue in deception?”  You cannot flourish unless you love, forgive, obey truth, and operate in the ways of God.  Seek truth and forsake deception.  You learn truth by time spent with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit through earnest and frequent study with hearts which aim to obey.

GOOD GOD'S MORNING!

GOD knows about the back room deals - the deals in the dark and the deals in the light. He has the jump on all conspiracies. He is behind the 8 ball on the rampant corruption. In the midst of it all, he is larger than life, death and the hereafter - and He ain't scared - not for a second!

All reap what we sow. If we sow life, life is what we shall reap. Those who reap death get exactly what they sow - death. Please pray for life for the death walkers.

There is nothing new to the Son. For everything there is a season. Woe to those who are at ease in Zion (Amos 6:1 - KJV). We are mandated to be ready for we know not when...

You are the Apostle and High Priest of our profession. We are steeped deep in gratitude for You JESUS, and all that You represent. We bless Your name and rejoice in the highness of most high Father GOD.

Lord GOD, we acknowledge Your might and that the might of the enemy has failed. By faith we think it, decree it, believe it, and walk up and down in it because it is You, and the truth of Your infallible Word.

Help us, Lord, please, not to faint but to endure with You, fervently, firm unto the end.

THE DEVIL IS NOT UNEMPLOYED - NEITHER ARE WE

Scriptures are from the King James Bible.

In this life, the devil is not unemployed - yet.  He works in the "boiler room."  Sadly, some professing Christians habitually exhibit conduct that proves to GOD, and those that He allows to be in the know, that such "Christians" work in the boiler room with Satan, the enemy of our souls.  As a result, compromised Christians have little or no authentic victories in their lives.

GOD works in the "penthouse" as do His victorious heirs - those who steadfastly have pure hearts and clean hands.  Obedience to GOD means that His people have covenants to keep steady jobs as witnesses of His love, forgiveness, power, peace and joy.  Also, the righteous have guaranteed contracts with the Father that He is a sure SOURCE to always supply everything that is necessary - plus, He gives desires of hearts as is stated in His infallible Word.

There are times when I believe that some people think that Satan IS unemployed.  It needs to be stressed that he has a job that he performs, in earnest.  We, of the kingdom, need to steadfastly do our holy jobs, with excellence, to conquer the works of the devil. 

The devil is NOT unemployed - neither are we.  Satan works overtime in the "heat" of the day and night.  We are of the day.  We are employed to do battle, and to win victories against the darkness of the night.  1 Thessalonians 5:5 says, "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness." 

Satan has a job with the aim to devour souls to take his "employees" from the boiler room to the lake of fire - a demotion, for brimstone sure!  No, people, the devil is not unemployed.  He works his job with intensity.  He punches the clock "faithfully" - no slacker - him.  He eagerly responds to "roll call" - ever ready to destroy. 

Those under Satan's employ are a fearful deceived bunch who work for death wages for Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death;..."  Despite their deadly compensation, they toil on.  Some "dead" employees gleefully do their duties with an eagerness to fight the light.  Others, not so eager, are adrift because they  were duped into making deals with the devil.  They are not "whole hog" into the dead work mix but on the fringes, they long for better opportunities.  They simply don' t know how to escape - yet.  

Then there are the "double agents" who by their mere places as "doubles" are mocking Almighty GOD.  They halt between GOD and the devil, which, in essence, means that they have forsaken life and peace.

Meanwhile, up in the penthouse, worship of GOD is the order of every day.  Eagle assignments are in motion.  Steadfastly, lion missions are on the agenda.  Yokes are being destroyed.  No, we penthouse folks are not unemployed.  There is much to keep us busy for JESUS.  Regularly, we are actively engaged in board meetings with the CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD - SOVEREIGN ALMIGHTY GOD.  He runs a narrow ship.  Matthew 7:14 says, Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."  

We are on board where - out of our bellies flow rivers of living water.  One meeting constant is to work, with fervency, as witnesses of the gospel of the kingdom of GOD.  Our confidence is high that our Lord shall give the increases to promote people from the boiler room to the penthouse where eternal life is the ultimate reward.

Some penthouse folks were dismissed from "natural" workplaces.  Be not deceived, though, because what Satan meant for evil, GOD means for good.  We now work for the Supreme Business Owner - Sovereign GOD who is Judge of all.  He shall provide us better than what Satan was allowed to affect.  Better shall indeed come to pass.

As for the faithful saints who remain in natural workplaces, GOD has them strategically assigned to represent His purposes, and to do His will.  No saint of our Lord is misplaced.  Everywhere, His glory is seen upon willing-hearted vessels.    

No, the devil is not unemployed - but remember, he has a dead end job.

While -

Daniel 7:18 says, "But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever."

Certainly, the saints of GOD are gainfully employed for all of eternity.

Thank you, Lord of all employment opportunities - our Father who is in heaven - thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory - Amen.

HELP WITH OFFENSE PLEASE

Greetings -

I need some help with the issue of offense.  We have heard it said, “I don’t want to offend…” or “I didn’t want to offend…” 

These are some scripture passages (KJV) that I found on the matter of offense:

Matthew 13:21
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

This was said about JESUS:
Matthew 13:57
And they were offended in him.

Matthew 15:12
Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

Matthew 26:31
Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night:…

Luke 7:23
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

John 16:1
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

I believe that I am, for the most part, straight about the truth that the gospel does offend some people.  Clearly, that is Bible.  Further, I believe that people, even Christians, can go to extremes where, readily, verbal “missiles” are launched with little or no restraint or love in the mix.  The other extreme is when confrontation/correction is habitually avoided because “I don’t want to offend” is the order of the day.

When we are hurt when others righteously correct us, does that mean that we are offended?  Or how is it defined when we are deeply wounded by necessary truth spoken to us?  Another concern is the matter of striking a balance.  When JESUS offends people, certainly, He always does it in love with balance.  Progressively, I am learning to do it in accordance with Biblical practices where, in the past, I was more prone to throw restraint to the wind.  Still, the matter challenges me.

The following accounts happened years ago:

Account 1

A deeply spiritual mentor/friend of mine (I’ll call her Crystal) offended me.  As I sat with her in her vehicle, she gave me a word from the Lord in a spirit of love.  The word was truth but it deeply offended me.  I cried.  Prior to the word, Crystal and I had planned a day of fellowship together.  After my tears flowed, Crystal did not feel sorry for me nor did she apologize for hurting me.  That is because she told me what the Lord told her to tell me.  My tears didn’t sway her holy resolve.  After some minutes, Crystal asked me if I wanted to go back home.  I sniffled, and told her that I wanted to go with her, as planned.  Later, when she got out of the vehicle to do an errand, I stayed in the vehicle to get things right with our Lord.  When Crystal returned, I was in a good place spiritually, and we went on to have a good day together.

These many years later, when I recall that episode, I have a sense of deep love and respect for Crystal’s stand for our Lord in spite of my offense and tears.  She did me a good service indeed, and I am deeply grateful for her witness for our Lord.

Account 2

This account involves Crystal and me, as well.  On a certain day, I went to a hat store and saw this stunning hat that I could not afford to purchase that day.  The Lord told me that He would “hold” it for me to purchase on another day.  A few days later, on a Saturday, the Lord told me to stay in at home to commune with Him.  Well, Crystal called and invited me out to spend time with her.  I agreed.  My rationale was – she’s a Christian so what big deal could it be if I went out with her instead of staying home to commune with the Lord as He had told me to do.

As Crystal and I rode around, I had the "bright" idea to have us go to the hat store so that I could show her the stunning hat that the Lord had said that He would “hold” for me.  Do you know what happened?!  I am sure that it was because of my disobedience.  I had no business being out with Crystal that day.  Crystal purchased the hat for herself!  I was crushed.  The Lord brought to my remembrance that I had disobeyed Him, and the penalty was that He told Crystal to buy “my” hat.  Crystal and I were members of the same church, and I had to watch her in church with “my” hat on!  What a lesson I learned.

Account 3

This account reflects a contrast relative to offense.  I know of someone whose husband habitually treats her much less than loving.  One day I got fed up and lit into him with verbal fire on high voltage.  He was deeply offended.  Everything that I said was truth, but the Lord did not lead me to say those things.  My utterances were not in the spirit of love.  I repented to the Lord, and called the husband to repent and to seek his forgiveness, which he granted.

Account 4

The Lord led me to give a pastor a word which I did not consider major relative to correction.  I am NOT one to just give people words from the Lord.  Typically, I seek the Lord in prayer; ask Him for biblical proof, and confirmations, etc.  I did all of that and was assured by the Lord that it was from Him for me to tell this pastor.  I told the pastor in a humble loving manner.  He did not seem offended.  Later though, from the pulpit, the pastor verbally blasted me.  He did not use my name but it was obvious from his words that he was talking about me and the word given to him.

As I sat there in church, I asked the Lord again if the word came from Him.  I was “certain” that it was until I got blasted.  The Lord assured me again that it was a word from Him.  As I sat there, the Lord provided me with scriptural confirmation.  I felt better.  When I got home though, I decided that, to avoid more “drama,” I would later go to the pastor to seek his forgiveness.  Immediately, when that thought hit me, I felt the anger of the Lord.  I clearly heard Him say to me, in a stern tone, that He had given me the word to give to the pastor.  Further, our Lord let me know that I knew that it was from Him as He had provided me with adequate confirmations.  The Lord informed me that I was inclined to seek the pastor’s forgiveness, and to make “peace” because I desired to avoid persecution because of the WORD.  He went on to inform me that if I retracted my stance, that it would be an insult to Him – GOD!  He concluded by telling me that He would punish me if I sought forgiveness for a Word that He sent me to give.  GOD’s rebuke shook me.  I did NOT go to the pastor to retract.  As weeks went by, the Lord reconciled me and the pastor, WITHOUT me having to disobey what the Lord told me.  Ever since that episode, for the most part, I give words as led by the Lord and whatever occurs – it is what it is.  As the scripture says in The Acts 5:29 - KJV, “…We ought to obey God rather than men.”  Still…there are rare instances when I’m not sure if it is me or the Lord doing the words.

Presently, I am better at verbal restraint but sometimes, I continue to question how far is too far relative to offense or when is it that I am not doing enough to verbally correct?  We all need correction. Over time, I have grown to appreciate when I am rebuked in love because it is for spiritual benefit.  Truth can hurt us but it is good to know, and to make amends when the Lord corrects us through others or however He decides.

I don’t want to be at either extreme – prone to correct too readily nor prone to ignore where correction is necessary.

Does anyone else have the challenge of striking a balance?  Can someone please help me on this?!

THIS IS HUGE - GOD USED MEDIA RESOURCES TO REPORT THE MIND-BLOWING!

Greetings -

Some of you, no doubt, saw the news broadcasts yesterday about Ted Williams the Ohio homeless panhandler who was "discovered" by a news man. Ted held a sign that stated, among other things, that he has a God-given voice.  He is a former radio personality who has been clean from drugs and alcohol for about two years.  When Ted speaks, truly, his voice is stellar in tone.  The news man who interviewed Ted put it on video and, subsequently, it went viral on Youtube and beyond.  Worldwide, GOD put Ted on the news - on The Today Show, Good Morning America, on local news programs, and on the radio, as well as on numerous Internet video clips! 

I saw Ted on TV and he mentioned that he had found the Lord last year.  Also, on a news program, he stated, "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not unto your own understanding."  Further he said, "At least I know God has me where He wants me." 

Last night the Lord reminded me of this scripture from Ecclesiastes 9:15 - KJV, "Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city;..."

Job offers have poured in for Ted from some major places, such as the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball organization.  He has someone to help him to field the many offers.

For those who have not seen the videos of Ted, you can google, "Homeless man wth golden voice."   

Thank GOD for how He had Ted Williams placed where he was - when he was - with his sign and stellar voice.  Please pray for Ted. 

Other aspects add further joy to my thrill about the story relative to Ted.  On December 24, 2010, I posted a topic, "GOD'S IN YOUR FACE MEMO TO SATAN."  In that post, the Lord led me to write
about the disenfranchised.  Below are excerpts of what the Lord stated in the subject post.

It struck me how the report about Ted came out on about January 5, 2011 after the December 24, 2010 post.  Another aspect is that on New Years Eve, December 31, 2010, I wrote a fiction piece titled, "THINK IT NOT STRANGE" which I have posted below after the excerpts from the December 24, 2010 post.  I was not led to post it earlier.  Now it is understood why - because it was destined that it be posted after the news about Ted was broadcast.

Here are the excerpts - in particular, note please, what is highlighted in yellow:

"This warrior troop, Satan, is fully persuaded that I am their Commander in Chief - and their Fortress.  They love, obey, and trust Me.  They await, in earnest, My military orders.  They are thirsty for blood - devil blood.  Holy supernatural blood transfusions are part of the order of this day.  The blood of some of your children will be transfused into the blood of JESUS to wash their sins away.  You have been blood sucking, Satan, long enough on GOD'S destined heirs.  The cross of My SON is their deliverance."

"I am poised, wicked one, with My trumpet call - out to the elite Special Forces.  Some of the team will come from unlikely places.  I have warriors in homeless shelters, jails/prisons, and living on the streets, - Oh don't be deceived - some of My best are from, and will come from such places."  Hark!  Let the record show - a select number of folks who have been disenfranchised are My franchisees indeed.

"More people, Satan, from every spectrum of society will surrender to Me.  The suits - the no-suits - the rich - the religious, and Oh yes, more backsliders will slide back to ME.  You know also that My reach is global. Mark 16:15 says, '...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.'  North, south, east and west, My gospel shall be preached, and whosoever will - shall come!"

"You can look forward, Satan, to My new breed mean machine team.  We mean to do exploits with excellence, and certain triumphant results."

In the closing words of His memo to Satan, GOD says, "Those are just some previews of coming attractions.  Stay tuned for the next episodes."

Here is the fiction piece that I wrote on New Years Eve:

THINK IT NOT STRANGE

Chloe, a tall striking brunette, is a marginal Christian who faithfully attends church but her heart is not deep in GOD.  She has a professional job that pays well.  She is an employee of excellent standing who gets on swell with her supervisor.  In essence, overall, Chloe “has it made.”

Every day in route to work, Chloe uses a short cut through Lincoln Park.  Often in the park, she sees a slender bald man, Jake, sitting on a bench.  On occasions, Jake has greeted Chloe but she considers him beneath her status so she has never bothered to acknowledge his greetings.

As weeks progress, Chloe is confident about her vain shallow lifestyle – until she is assigned a new supervisor, Brenda, who injects “poison” into Chloe’s workplace environment.  It seems that Chloe does little to please Brenda.  As days go on, Chloe becomes more miserable at work.  One day, in route home, as Chloe walks through Lincoln Park, Jake is there.  She hears him say, “Think it not strange.”  This day, for “some reason,” Chloe is compelled to acknowledge Jake.  She walks over to him.

Jake says again, “Think it not strange.”

Chloe asks, “What are you talking about?!”

Jake proceeds to tell Chloe about her recent workplace troubles, and some reasons why they exist.

Chloe, stunned, stares at Jake. “How do you know all of that about me?!”

Jake tells her, “I am a man of GOD who daily walks close with Him.  GOD reveals secrets to those who draw nigh to Him.”

Chloe sits down.  She learns that Jake lives at the Lion Den Mission.  He shares with her how he came to be there.  Years ago, he arrived at the Mission as a client and then found the Lord.  The Lord blessed Jake with a job there, and since then, several job offers to work elsewhere have come his way.  Jake refuses to leave the Lion Den because his call from GOD is to work with, and to help the clients there, and others in such circumstances.

Chloe is ashamed of how she had judged Jake.  She tells him how sorry she is for her wrong conduct.

Jake thanks Chloe for her apology, and assures her that he forgives her.

Chloe is relieved.

On some days, she begins to take her lunch to the park to sit with Jake.  She is deeply drawn to his strong love for, and knowledge about GOD.

Jake tells Chloe that her love for GOD must be above all else.  He shares that if she makes that crucial choice, all else will be added.  Jake provides Chloe with Bible proof of all that he has shared.

Progressively, Chloe “gets” it.  She chose life and got serious about GOD.  Her workplace environment has not changed but GOD changed Chloe.  She has joy and peace in the midst of the “storms.”

A workplace “shift” may be on the horizon.  The other day Chloe noticed Brenda staring at her as she glowed after Brenda lashed out at her.  Later that day, Brenda apologized to Chloe – something Brenda has never previously done in her engagements with Chloe.

Chloe is hugely grateful for how the Lord had Jake in position to be there for her.  Truly, Jake’s witness led her to pursue hard after GOD, and His kingdom purposes.

Think it not strange…

Recently I watched a sermon series by a pastor. The topic was renewing our minds.  The series deeply affected and taught me.  I am grateful for how the Lord used that pastor to teach on mind renewal.

Herein are some points that the Lord gave me about mind renewal.  If we do NOT renew our minds daily through study of the Holy Bible and prayer to our Father with hearts that follow God’s Word, we allow the Devil to control our minds as his playground.  If we do not daily renew our minds, we are snared by the devices of Satan.  We give him permission to occupy places within us where he has no business.

Why are so many Christians weak in power?!  It is largely due to failure to do daily mind renewal with steadfast obedience to GOD.  Also, they allow more of the world within through media, technology, unholy alliances, and associations.  The consequences are that less gospel centered things enter to renew their minds.

Change in character is dependent upon what we allow to enter and abide in us.  When we renew our minds through righteous channels, the result is that we demonstrate what is representative of holiness.  In order to have the characteristics of GOD, we must spend daily meaningful time with Him.  We cannot engage GOD in hit and miss mode or with swift administration.  He is not to be squeezed in – He is to be focused in to our daily schedules.  It is disrespectful to treat GOD as a mere inconvenience or nuisance distraction.  He is sovereign and holy and mandates that He be revered as our FIRST love.

I cannot remember how many people that I have met who state that they are born again Christians but do NOT daily read the Holy Bible or know scriptures from memory.  I have met more born again Christians who do NOT know the Word of GOD than I have those that do.  It is spiritually dangerous to lack knowledge of the Holy Bible, the inerrant Word of GOD.  It is more dangerous to know it and not be a doer of what it commands.

Born again Christians who do not know…are largely ineffective for the advancement of the kingdom of GOD.  They have placed themselves whereas they are inadequate for what GOD expects them to do to have a profound impact on unbelievers.  Also, we in the body of Christ are instructed to help, admonish, encourage, and correct one another.  Spiritually, if GOD’s resources and means are not used, abilities are feeble in application to assist others.

Born again babes in Christ, of course, are not held to the same standards by GOD as those who have been born again for years.  My experience is mostly with those who have been saved for years and are stuck, by selfish choices, in the dairy section.  Those milk indulgers who should have long ago progressed to the meat realm.  Plain and simple, some do NOT want renewed minds.  For this cause, many are weak…1 Corinthians 11:30.  Yes, dry bones can live - Ezekiel 37 – whosoever will, let him come.

Satan is assailing us from every angle.  He is launching vicious attacks against the kingdom of GOD.  He has elevated his game with his relentless wicked devices.  He is in constant war mode against us.  Too often, the response of scores of Christians is to be “on the ropes” while Satan and his cohorts pummel their weak spirits.  The Devil does not fight fair.  He hits below the belt, behind the back, while opponents are sitting in the corner, when the bell rings for the end of rounds, and however else he can get his punches in.  He does head shots, body blows, upper cuts, slugs, left and right hooks, and sucker punches.  Too many Christians are left dazed, bloodied, and brain dead - in sum, out of commission for anything truly spiritually victorious.

Amos 6:1, “Woe, to them that are at ease in Zion…”  True Christians do NOT have mind renewal as an option.  It is a mandate.  Demonic strong holds cannot be pulled down if Christians have not pulled UP to GOD through daily quality communion with Him.  It is a sin to ignore GOD, and to relegate Him after anything or anyone else in our lives.  His Word states in Isaiah 42:8, “I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.”

God loves us all - He does NOT respect all.  He respects holiness.  He loves righteousness and hates iniquity.  Indeed He is a GOD of mercy but it is an insult to GOD to come to Him only in times of trouble and need.  He grievingly observes other gods being served.  He hurts when people use Him for self-centered purposes. Jeremiah 2:27 says, “…for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.”  And Jeremiah 2:28 states, “But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble:…”

We are commanded to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.  We must strive to be without guile, blameless and above reproach.  Righteous transformation is not possible without mind renewal through the means that GOD commands.  If we desire true change to be acceptable to GOD, we must do as mandated in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

DO WE HAVE HEARTBURN?

Scriptures are from the King James Bible

Luke 24:32
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

We cannot thrive spiritually unless we have pure hearts and clean hands.  Heart conditions are foundational to who we are.  We cannot be separate from our heart “beats.”  Who do our hearts “beat” for?  What is our steadfast heart rate?

Our Lord desires that we have heartburn.  We need hearts that burn when He talks with us – hearts that burn when we commune with Him – hearts that burn when we witness of Him – hearts that burn when we speak, and do for Him, and hearts that burn when we purpose to live steadfastly for the advancement of the kingdom of Almighty GOD.

Oh, that we will have our heart lights to burn as we go and glow in the holy name of JESUS!

Joshua 22:5

Greetings -

This piece was inspired by Sharon of http://www.sharonsharinggod.blogspot.com/.  She suggested that I post some aspects of this, and the rest is more on social networking.  Thank you, Sharon, for your suggestion.

Now for SOCIAL NETWORKING SCENES: 

Scene 1

Darrell is on the phone with Millicent.

Darrell: You know I love you, right?

Millicent: Yes – I love you, too.

Darrell: Hey, let’s go to the Bing concert this weekend. 

Millicent: Sure, I’m game.

Call waiting beeps on Darrell’s line.

Darrell: Hold on, baby, I’ve got another call.

Darrell: Hello

GOD: Darrell, this is GOD.

Darrell: Hi, GOD – let me call You back, I’m on another line.

GOD: I know that you are on another line. You need to, rather, call Millicent back.

Darrell: God, she and I are in the midst of making Bing concert plans for this weekend.

GOD: I know what you are doing.  I AM in the midst of it all.

Darrell clicks GOD off and returns to resume his conversation with Millicent.

What!  Darrell hung up on GOD?!

Scene 2

Sheila is in a chat room on the Internet.

GOD interrupts and asks that she come chat with Him.

Sheila: Lord, right now this chat is intense.  It’s not a good time to log off.

GOD: I AM the most intense of all that exists.

Sheila: Lord, I know but….

GOD grieves as He leaves.

Scene 3

Michael is having a lively time with his many friends on Facebook.

JESUS requests some Face time.

JESUS: Michael, I can be your Friend that is closer than a brother.

Michael does not even bother to answer JESUS.  He continues his Facebook activities.

JESUS weeps – and departs.

Scene 4

Linda is engaged on Instant Messaging when GOD interrupts and requests that she log off and log on with Him.

Immediately, Linda informs her IM buddies that she has got to go because GOD has requested her attention.

They try to persuade her to put GOD off until later.

She lovingly but firmly tells them again that she has got to go.

Her buddies continue in their attempts to keep her on IM.

She logs off from them and goes to her Father, Almighty GOD.  Her Lord will NOT be kept waiting – no way!

Scene 5

Kelly is on LinkedIn to make some business connections.

GOD asks her to link in with Him.

Kelly: GOD, I’ll get with You later.  There is an important business connection here that just cannot wait.

GOD: Kelly, how important am I?

Kelly looks sorry but she is not sorry enough to cease her agenda for the business of the Greatest One.

Scene 6

William gets up to prepare for his day.  Time with GOD is NOT a priority. 

GOD asks him to pray and to read His Word. 

William: I will, Lord, after I check my e-mails.

GOD: That is NOT acceptable to me, William.  Is e-mail your first love?

William: No, Lord.

GOD: Why, then, are you inclined to check e-mails before you spend time with Me?

William repents and proceeds to spend quality time with the Lord.

Scene 7

Caroline is on Myspace to update her profile information.

GOD calls her away to attend to His needs.

Caroline: GOD, I’m almost through here.  I’ll be with You in a bit.

GOD: Now is the time, Caroline, for Me.

Caroline looks annoyed: I’ll hurry this up.

GOD: Now is the time.

Caroline stays on Myspace to get her profile done.

GOD leaves her to her devices.

The Aftermath:

Darrell – he hung up on GOD, remember? – has a job crisis that prompts him to call on GOD.  When he does, however, his attitude is cavalier and not anywhere near close to recognition of the need to reverence Almighty GOD.

GOD puts Darrell on hold – until….

Michael – the Facebook devotee – due to a family emergency, petitions JESUS. 

JESUS: Michael, you’re not in my Face Book.  Weeks ago, you refused Me entry while you engaged your many Facebook “friendlies.”

Michael weeps…

Kelly is deep into LinkedIn.  She makes an excellent connection that she pursues with vigor.  The business that has her rapt attention is, Love Dove.  It is a travel agency.

Love Dove responds to Kelly: We’re linked into JESUS, are you?

Kelly is stunned as she remembers - her visit from GOD….

GOD delightfully tells William and Linda: Thank you, for choosing MY SPACE – certainly, you shall reap what you sow – life more abundantly and peace galore.

As for the others, GOD may call on them later…perhaps He will get through – on the MAIN LINE.
