Thank GOD for the rich people who know and serve GOD. There are so many of them, though, who do not live for the Creator who formed them. My desire is that more rich people become rich in GOD (Luke 12:21). There are so many famous, wealthy, rich people who are depressed, frightened, insecure, and lonely right in the midst of people. The rich and famous wear their public masks but some of them cry themselves to sleep. In that circle, there are closet drug addicts and alcoholics. Their possessions possess them. They walk the red carpets while they feel walked on by "life." They hunger for they know not what. They have houses but not homes. They shop 'til they drop, and dress in the finest while inwardly they are dry, broken, and forlorn. They have huge trust issues because they are often manipulated for their favors. They question who truly cares. They seek love in wrong places and are met with devastating betrayals.
Prayer:
Father, in the name of JESUS, please wrap Your loving arms around the suffering rich. Please save their weary souls and forgive their sins. Wash them with Your Word. Visit them with Your holy glory - they need close encounters with you, GOD. There are no predicaments for which You do not have remedies. You fully know of their "secret" weeping, their suicidal imaginations, and their desperate empty hearts. All is known by You. You are not intimidated by the highest dramas or the most tumultuous situations. You are above it all, and You bow to none of it. Prove that, please Lord, to more of the rich and famous.
The rich and famous also need You to prove to them that Your love is a Rock of salvation and that You can be trusted with their smallest and their greatest needs. Show them how to wholly escape the vanities that never profit in ways that please You. Reveal Yourself to the famous celebrities, the reclusive and the flamboyant millionaires/billionaires, the call girls, and the scores of influential people who all need to be introduced to the only true and living GOD - You - the most High!
Please, Lord, send holy people to love on the rich and influential. Let Your holy abundant influence penetrate them to impact their lives indelibly. Take them, in You, from introduction to relationship status and on to righteous eternal freedom. It shall come to pass. Thank you, Lord - Amen.

The Lord has given me some assets but my security is not in them; my security is in the Lord. But many people see that I'm not insecure about life and assume I must be a millionaire. Not!
ReplyDeleteOne fellow, a graduate of Oral Roberts University, tried to get me involved to a million or two for a very improbable scheme. I told him what the Lord told me, "this project will become impossible before you lose anyone else's money."
He still tried to get me on board. He had done another scheme with other Christians' money and lost it all, so now he was desperately trying something even more improbable in hopes of recouping money for the folks in the first failure! He courted me for all he was worth.
I'm near a wealthy community. These folks lived by the financial planners and analysts. Oftentimes they listen to Christian advisors who pass along ungodly advice. "Don't be in debt except for mortgages." "Buy and hold a 'balanced' portfolio." "Everything is going onward & upward. Trust us." "Any downturn will quickly turn around."
They got burned by Psalms 1. "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the way of sinners nor sits in the seat of scoffers." "The wicked are not so. They are like chaff that the wind blows away." A lot of them are sitting there waiting for the banks to take everything away.
In the meantime, read Proverbs 27:23-27.
"23 Know the state of your flocks,
and put your heart into caring for your herds,
24 for riches don’t last forever,
and the crown might not be passed to the next generation.
25 After the hay is harvested and the new crop appears
and the mountain grasses are gathered in,
26 your sheep will provide wool for clothing,
and your goats will provide the price of a field.
27 And you will have enough goats’ milk for yourself,
your family, and your servant girls."

I was surprised today, Tuesday September 21, 2010, to read a www.cnn.com article dated today that stated that NFL player Kenny McKinley of the Denver Broncos likely committed suicide.
The report went on to report that his "smile and personality could light up the room."
My surprise was because I did NOT expect evidence to so soon manifest after yesterday's posting about the rich and famous issues....
