I wrote the content on this blog with sincere and holy intentions with the knowledge that I had at the time... We live, learn and errors are exposed and more truths are revealed...

Only GOD is perfect. It's vital that you seek the Lord to expose any errors that you've embraced. Please ask Him to expose any areas of darkness to you and for what is necessary to do to dispossess what's NOT of truth.

Flames of fire dance joyfully as dreams of fervor conjure up images of red hot passion for the gusto of life.

Sizzle, spark, explode -

Fireballs light up the sky. Wow! a thunder flash with a clap -

The flames are vivid with the awesome glow of orange colors blended with yellow highlights that accent the blaze.

This display is the bomb torched with a rocket plan. Such rapture has lit our fire. We are dynamite on this journey.

Come on fire, fall on us. Pour your liquid potency. Ignite our souls that we may be engulfed with magnified intensity.

Blow up our hearts. Dance with us....

Greetings -

This is a tag on to yesterday's post, "COURTESY SCALE."

After I did the courtesy post yesterday I read an article about how some people on jury duty are now using online methods to discuss cases, in violation of court instructions.  The article also discussed how there is a generational gap in how young people versus older people view respect.  One example given was when a judge gave the jury members instructions not to discuss the case via ANY means.   Well, one young man went on Facebook and wrote, "F--- the judge." When the judge became aware of the young man's post, and spoke to him about it, the young man responded to the judge, "That's just Facebook stuff..."  My sense was that the young man had no clue as to how disrespectful that was - even more so because he was addressing a judge, and had the nerve to put what he put on Facebook relative to the judge.  Of course, we Christians find that awful conduct but even when I was a non-Christian, I would NOT have dared done such a thing.

Another account:

A few months ago I saw a report of a young woman who showed up for jury duty with a tee shirt on that had stenciled on it in large letters, "F--- Y--."  The judge rebuked the young woman for wearing the said tee shirt to court.  She dismissed the young woman  from the process.  The young woman responded, "Haven't you heard of free speech?"

Does anyone agree that back in the day even non-Christians had more boundaries relative to behavior?  I mean didn't they then have more scruples and more lines that they would not cross behavior-wise?  Of course, there are exceptions, but I mean overall?

There is a scripture that comes to mind.  It is 2 Timothy 3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse,..."

Father, in the name of JESUS, please help those who are perverse to accept You and the fulness of Your truth.  Draw them into Your glorious kingdom and pull them out of the fire to love, trust, and serve You.

Thank you, Lord - Amen.

  1. I see the same thing here in Bermuda. Back in the day....people were more friendly more respectful of others.

There is a great brake down in family values and it is seen in society in many ways. The problem is that most people cannot see the cause; therefore the wound is incurable, because we now have a generation that knows not Elohim....and "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Ps.11:3)"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man." (Eccl.12:13)

Thanks for bringing up this subject.
    Shalom In Messiah.

  2. Hi Yuri -

Interesting that you see the same thing there in Bermuda. Yes, interesting... It helps when we learn about what is current in other countries. Thank you, Yuri, for that perspective.

And I love those scriptures that you cited. Yes, they are on point indeed!

You are certainly welcome...and thank you for visiting and commenting.

  3. I think the scripture about "they will become lovers of self..." (my paraphrase) which I can't find right this minute and others about last days like:
2 Peter 3:2-4 (New King James Version)

2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us,[a] the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

    sum it all up....

You are right - I wouldn't dream of saying things like that even before I came to the Lord - there was a time when I had a mouth like a trucker but I still knew I was to respect authority and cringed at the thought of using my mouth around people at work or those in authority in my life.

I guess somehow I knew it wouldn't harm them but showed graphically what and who I was so except around my peers I used civilized English. With my peers what came out of my mouth was mainly to be "cool" or for shock affect sorry to say.

  4. I think that things have gotten this way because parents are afraid to, or don't care to discipline their children, and even the ones that do are rebuked by others for doing so. I remember giving my youngest son a swat on the tail when he was about 2, not a very hard on, just to get his attention because he was overly excited about something and he was hanging on my arm and it was hurting, and he wasn't listening to me... My sister gave me the longest lecture about how a swat on the tail like that is bad for the poor child's psychological wellbeing.

  5. Rumor has it that Dr. Spock (the one of the child rearing book that said not to spank or you'd runi their little psychological being) admitted that his book ruined a generation of kids - he admitted it way too late to do any good though. I think all of us got a spanking when it was necessary (on our bottoms - I am definitely not talking about child abuse here) and it did no damage to us and we grew up knowing limits and having some self restraint.

As we got older we were grounded or had some other form of punishment to get our attention when we didn't abide by the house rules. Reaping and sowing still needs to be taught. Kids who know no limits are the ones who are having their little psychological self damaged as they will get into the real world and find out pretty fast that the rules are for everyone and to make orderly society and they cannot ignore them.

  6. Greetings -

Thank you for visiting and commenting.

I feel you on the foul mouth. Before Christ, I also had a profane mouth but would not use it around my elders - like you - it was with my peers. I was taught better but often did not do better - until Christ. I cannot recall my mother ever using a curse word - before or after Christ in her life. Why I resorted to foul language certainly cannot be traced to my mother...or family surroundings...

    Interesting about Dr. Spock....

Yes, I believe also, Julie, that some parents are afraid of their children. Also, some parents are more concerned about being friends with their children. I heard one famous actress' mother say, "She has enough friends - I am her mother."

I got my fair share of spankings and as I think back on them - not one of them was undeserved, and I appreciate the discipline applied by my mother. Never once did I believe that she did not love me.

Of course our greatest reference is the Bible.

    Proverbs 23:13 - KJV
Withhold not correction from the child for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

    Proverbs 13:24 - KJV
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

  7. Oh Marijo, you've said it. When I was young, I got spankings, on the bottom. When I got them, my parents made sure I knew why I was getting the spanking, and then we got the spanking. When we got older there were other forms of punishment also. I am studying to be an early childhood educator, and even now, they are moving away from the word punishment, and calling it positive guidance. There is no such thing as a time out any more, and if two kids are fighting over a toy, you don't do like I did when my kids were that age, and say well, since you two are fighting over this toy it becomes mine, you'll get it back when I'm ready to give it back... you use positive guidance...which would take too long to explain... Ugh...

  8. Humanism is insane. I majored in Child Development in college before nursing. I watched in a lab the 3 year old son of my professor - the kid was neat and well mannered and I asked the prof - so, did you go by the book in raising him? His answer made me change my major "no, my wife and I just used common sense"... if my CD prof didn't go by the book it was the wrong major for me.

Kids have to know that their actions have consequences. Or they are being set up to fail in society and the job scene.

I am not surprised by what you are saying but it makes me sick to think of what it will do to society.

AND we loved competing in school for grades and scores - it motivated us to do better. My folks always said if we have done our best that's all they asked. So my GPA was a 3.5 or so. Always got a C in PE to wreck things.

The Bible is clear on raising kids and why - love them to pieces and discipline them.

Had a boyfriend who had all older sisters - he was spoiled badly. My folks grounded me because I was 10 minutes late getting home - his comment as he pealed out of the driveway way "at least you know your folks love you...." Because he got away with murder he thought his parents didn't love him - that always stayed with me. I am happy to report he finally did grow up and most recently he gave his life to our Jesus!
