Greetings -
Yesterday a "cloud" was on me. Praise to our GOD that it has lifted. He told me to share that information because, presently, others have clouds on them. Please partake of this heavenly meal, compliments of our Blessed Father GOD.
Scriptures are from the King James Bible.
Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Many Christians are familiar with 2 Corinthians 10:4 which says, (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
But less are familiar with the scripture from Nahum 1:7 stated above. The Lord is a holy strong hold. Satan has strongholds that we must pull down - even in ourselves because we can allow ourselves to be gripped by evil strongholds. But Hallelujah that GOD is a strong hold with a righteous right hand and a holy arm. Oh Glory to His invincible name! Psalm 48:10 says, "According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness." And Isaiah 41:10 heartily assures us. It says, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
Our Lord told me to use His Word, and to praise Him to vanquish the cloud. We must do something when those clouds come to affect us. Faith without works is dead. I do believe that our Lord tolerates from us a "season" of depression and grief, etc. But He does NOT expect such to be prolonged. We must use GOD'S Word to fight our way out of the clouds that aim to suck us in to dismal states. I heard it said, "What we feed will dominate." Let us not feed those evil strong holds.
When we righteously use GOD'S Word, He confirms His Word with signs following. Mark 16:17 says, "And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils;... And Mark 16:20 says, "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following..." Notice that it says, "the Lord working with them."
We are at war, people. Praise GOD that we are NOT without weapons. The weapons of our warfare are NOT carnal but mighty through GOD - 2 Corinthians 10:4. And because our weapons are mighty through GOD, Jeremiah 1:19 is true for us. It says, "And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee." We can most assuredly believe that because GOD said it - His Word does NOT return void - Isaiah 55:11.
Here is more Word of GOD weaponry:
Psalm 44:3
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
Psalm 89:10
...thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
Psalm 98:1
O sing unto the Lord a new song for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
Psalm 136:12
With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.
The Acts 13:17
The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
1 Peter 4:1
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind:..

STRONG ARM THE DEVIL
ReplyDeleteHis Holy umbrella over us - the only stronghold to have! Major break through for me yesterday - will write you!
ReplyDeleteNice post...thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt has become fashionable in our "enlightened" society to eliminate biblical references to words such as "war", "battle", "weaponry", etc....Apparently, there are many faux Christians who don't realize the severity of the war in which we are mortally engaged. To many, the WORD should be one of all sweetness and light. Kumbayah.
You are so right----we are in a battle. And we need to use all of the weapons He has placed at our disposal. Blessings to you, Sandra.
Thank you Sandra for this inspiring post. There has been a cloud over me at times lately because of a lot of uncertainty in the future of my work and other things. Praise God, He is our stronghold! By the way Isaiah 41:10 was one of the passages I held on to deeply in my grieving the death of my wife.
ReplyDeleteYes, some of what you shared here had similarities with my blog post. God is awesome! I certainly do appreciate your visit and comments on my blog. I am glad the Lord sent you to my blog today.
God bless you,
Ken

@Marijo
I like that "Holy umbrella" expression. Praise GOD that He is the most high stronghold!
@Clint
You are certainly welcome, Clint.
This that you expressed struck me profoundly,
"It has become fashionable in our "enlightened" society to eliminate biblical references to words such as "war", "battle", "weaponry", etc....Apparently, there are many faux Christians who don't realize the severity of the war in which we are mortally engaged. I had no idea, Clint, that it is fashionable...
That is of deep concern...
Thank you for sharing that important information.
@Ken
You are certainly welcome.
Yes, we do have our "cloud" moments. I wholly agree, "Praise God, He is our sronghold!"
Wow! I thank our Lord how He used Isaish 41:10 to help in your time of grief.
I'm glad as well, Ken, that I was led to your blog today.
God bless you, too!
Blessings Sandra and thank you! Powerful Word and many well chosen scriptures! I love your beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteCloud moments arise from our arms lifted in praise! Some of our clouds come and go in waves but not a day passes that I do not PRAISE!
This is a great arsenal of warfare scriptures to know in Whom we find our strength!
Your title confused me "Strong Arm the devil" but I guess it matters our you read it and now I get it.
This is filled with encouragement and inspiration. You are so right, compliments of the Father! Great insight on the difference in stronghold and strong HOLD! So thankful for our Lord's strong arm and mostly His protection in the midst of the battle and war being waged. Not enough soldiers battling and the weight on the few is held by a Mighty God.
Praise the Lord! Glory to His name and Word!
Thank You Father and Sandra for obediently sharing and speaking this forth.
Peace and Joy,
Peggy
and thanks for your visits. I'm so glad I was able to come here to this one Spirit led! Press on Mighty Warrior and sister in Christ!
Hi Peggy -
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and commenting.
It is great that you praise GOD every day. We need to - for sure!
Thank you for your statement about the title. I re-read it and can understand that it was confusing. Based on that, I changed it today to "SATAN BOWS TO THE STRONG ARM OF GOD."
You expressed, "So thankful for our Lord's strong arm and mostly His protection in the midst of the battle and war being waged."
I wholly agree, Peggy. Amen!
You must be reading my mail, girlfriend. I was just discussing with my daughter how our self pity trips will not move the hand of God, but our faith will! We both are resolute to go to the Lord for a Word and hang on to it with all our hearts in this trial. Praise the Lord, my high tower and stronghold.
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Mary
"Yesterday a "cloud" was on me." Thank you Sandra for your obedience in the Lord. I am thankful you listened and shared. You're right, others have clouds on them, me being on of them. This week I have had a cloud building up inside me, ready to burst and the rains will pour. So this post is very encouraging. Blessings, Kerrie

@Saleslady371
GOD is the MAILMAN, lady. Praise His awesome name that He always delivers, according to His Word!
Yes, we need faith and to do faith movements. May GOD help us all.
@Kerrie
You are certainly welcome, Kerrie. Prayers are going forth for you, and others who have clouds...
Sandra - What an awesome "cloudbuster" word you have given. I just loved the Nahum reference. What a mighty promise that is. And how I needed to hear it.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for providing all the other great "weapons of war" - the Word of God is mighty. May we learn how to wield it more effectively.
Loved your title - Satan does indeed bow...
GOD BLESS, my warrior sister!
Hi Sharon -
ReplyDeleteI like your term "cloudbuster."
You are certainly welcome, Sharon. Yes - Amen that the "Word of God is mighty."
The only ONE who does NOT bow is GOD. Praise His sovereign most high name!!!
Great word! God spoke to me this morning about this very subject. I love when He speaks to me in stereo!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this excellent message with us!
